Ali Asjad Malhi is a former Pakistani Minister and member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from Sialkot District. He served in the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2002 to 2008.
Malhi belongs to a family of Bureaucrats and is a businessman by profession. [1] He is the nephew of Sikandar Hayat Malhi who was also a member of the National Assembly as well as the Punjab Provincial Assembly. [2] [3]
Malhi started his political career serving as District Naib Nazim [2]
He was later elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan in 2002. He defeated the Independent candidate Armaghan Subhani. [4]
He served as Federal Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications Division [5] as well as minister of State for Defense. [6]
Malhi was a former member of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in 2014. [1]
Malhi contested to become a member of the National Assembly from NA-75 Sialkot-IV but lost to PML-N Candidate Syed Iftikhar Ul Hassan in the 2018 general election. [7]
In a 2021 bye election in NA-75 Sialkot-IV,Malhi lost to PML-N candidate Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar. [8]

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a political party in Pakistan established in 1996 by Pakistani cricketer and politician Imran Khan,who served as the country's prime minister from 2018 to 2022. Mian Ghulam Sarwar Khan is a Pakistani politician who was the former Federal Minister for Aviation,in office from 24 May 2019 to 10 April 2022. Prior to this position,he was appointed as Federal Minister for Petroleum on 20 August 2018,but he was shifted to the Aviation Ministry. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan,from August 2018 till January 2023. General elections were held in Pakistan on 25 July 2018 to elect the members of the 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties were Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),led by Imran Khan,the Pakistan Muslim League,led by Shehbaz Sharif,and the Pakistan People's Party,led by Bilawal Bhutto. The PTI won the most seats in the National Assembly but fell short of a majority;the party subsequently formed a coalition government with several smaller parties. At the provincial level,the PTI remained the largest party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP);the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) retained its dominance in Sindh;and the newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) emerged as the largest party in Balochistan. In Punjab,the result was a hung parliament,with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) winning the most seats. However,after several independent MPAs joined the PTI,the latter became the largest party and was able to form a government.
The 2014 Tsunami March,also called the Azadi movement,was a protest march in Pakistan from 14 August to 17 December 2014. The march was organized by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) against the Pakistani government of Nawaz Sharif. PTI claimed systematic election-rigging in the 2013 general election,and PAT demanded justice for the culprits in the 2014 Lahore clash. Then PTI chairman Imran Khan had announced plans for an August march from Lahore to Islamabad with a group of protesters in a PTI jalsa (demonstration) in Bahawalpur on 27 June 2014. On 17 December,a day after the 2014 Peshawar school massacre,Khan called off the protest.
Pir Syed Iftikhar Ul Hassan Shah,also known as Zahray Shah,was a Pakistani politician who was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan,since August 2018. Previously he was a member of the National Assembly from June 2013 to May 2018.

Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since February 2024 and previously served in this position from April 2021 till August 2023. She had won the by-elections from constituency NA-75 (Sialkot-IV).
General elections were held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday,25 July 2018 to elect the 51 members of 15th National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) obtained a landslide victory in the province by winning 37 general seats and increased their margin of victory from 2013. The PTI also won 8 out of 10 reserved seats while the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) won 1 reserved seat each.
By-elections were held on 8 National Assembly and 3 Punjab Assembly constituencies in Pakistan on 16 October 2022 and 1 National Assembly seat on 30 October 2022. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf got a landslide victory by winning 7 out of 9 National Assembly and 2 out of 3 Punjab Assembly seats whereas the Pakistan Democratic Movement,an alliance of 14 parties,was only able to win 2 National Assembly seats and 1 Punjab Assembly seat.
