Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari is a Qatari politician who has served as Minister of Finance since October 2021. [1] Previously he served as Minister of Commerce and Industry from November 2018 [2] to October 2021 and acting Minister of Finance from May to October 2021. [3] [4]
Al Kuwari holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science [5] from Eastern Washington University [6] and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from the Seattle Pacific University. [5]
In 1988,Al Kuwari joined Qatar National Bank. He was executive general manager and group chief business officer of QNB. [7] [8] On 9 July 2013,Al Kuwari became the CEO of QNB Group. [9]
In November 2018,Al Kuwari was appointed minister of commerce and industry. [6] [10] [11]
In May 2021,he became acting minister of finance,succeeding Ali Sharif Al Emadi. Since October 2021,Al Kuwari has been the minister of finance. [12] [13]
In January 2023,Al Kuwari attended the World Economic Forum in Davos,where he announced Qatar would "very soon" be ready to sell its first green bond. [14] [15] Additionally,the World Economic Forum signed a partnership agreement with Qatar to establish a Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in Qatar. [16] [17] [18]
Al Kuwari chairs the MasterCard Middle East and North Africa Advisory Board. He is also chairman of QNB Capital and of QNB Privée Suisse in Switzerland as well as vice chairman of Qatar Exchange. [5]

Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al-Marri is a Qatari human rights figure and politician born on November 30,1972. He was appointed Minister of Labour of the State of Qatar on October 19,2021,and was re-appointed Minister of Labor by an Amiri order in March 2023. Before taking up the ministerial portfolio,he had chaired the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) for State of Qatar since 2009. He also served as acting president and secretary-general of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions and as president of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions. In 2012 he was elected chairman of the Permanent Arab Committee on Human Rights of the Arab League and chairman of the Asia Pacific Forum for the session 2013 to 2015. He was re-elected as chairman of the NHRC of the State of Qatar in 2019. In June 2023,Al-Marri was elected as president of the United Nation's annual International Labour Conference.
