Alina Kouszyk is a Belarusian journalist and TV host for Belsat TV . [1] [2] She became a member of the Belarusian United Transitional Cabinet with responsibility for National Revival on 16 September 2022. [2]

Childhood and education

Kouszyk studied history and teaching English at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and politics at the University of Warsaw. [3] [4]

Television

Kouszyk started work for Belsat TV around 2007, as a host of TV shows including Belsat Studio, PraSvet and 54% [2] and as a journalist. [1]

Cultural organising

Kouszyk organised Belarusian cultural activities in Warsaw, including the co-founding of the Centre for Belarusian Solidarity and InBelKult 2.0. [2] [5]

On 16 September 2022, Kouszyk was nominated to the Belarusian United Transitional Cabinet with responsibility for National Revival, to develop Belarusian culture and education. [2] [6]

On 28 September 2021, Andrei Zeltser, a Belarusian IT worker, was killed in Minsk by members of the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus who conducted a raid on his apartment. After a door breaching, a shootout took place, in which Zeltser fatally shot Dmitry Fedosyuk, a KGB agent from the Alpha Group unit. Zeltser was subsequently killed by the KGB. Zeltser was subsequently called a "terrorist" by the government. According to the state-owned Belarusian Telegraph Agency, "members of an extremist group with ties to the opposition, supposedly, lived in the apartment", referring to Zeltser, 31, and his wife, who was arrested.

Tatsiana Zaretskaya is a cofounder and leader of a software firm, Laava Tech. Zaretskaya was nominated to the Belarusian United Transitional Cabinet in September 2022, with responsibility for Finance and Economy. On 2 November 2022, she announced that she had resigned from the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus as a result of weeks of threats to family, friends and employees.

Aliaksandr Azarau is a former police investigator in Belarusian security services including the Investigative Committee of Belarus and GUBOPiK. As of 2022, he is head of the Belarusian opposition police group BYPOL. Azarau was responsible for law and order as a member of the United Transitional Cabinet of the Belarusian opposition from August 2022 to 6 August 2023.

Valery Kavaleuski is a former Belarusian diplomat. On 9 August 2022, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya appointed him as the Deputy Head and Representative for Foreign Affairs to the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus that is opposed to the de facto government of Alexander Lukashenko. Before that Kavaleuski was Representative on international affairs and then the Head of the Cabinet of Representatives in Tsikhanouskaya's team.

Vladzimir Arkadyevich Astapenka is a Belarusian diplomat who was ambassador to Cuba, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Peru in the 2010s. Astapenka resigned in September 2020 in alignment with the 2020–2021 Belarusian protests that followed the 2020 Belarusian presidential election He was nominated to several positions in the Belarusian opposition, including Deputy Representative for Foreign Affairs of the Belarusian United Transitional Cabinet. and head of the Mission for Democratic Belarus in Brussels in October 2022.
