Robert Sargent Shriver Jr. was an American diplomat, politician, and activist. As the husband of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, he was part of the Kennedy family. Shriver was the driving force behind the creation of the Peace Corps, and founded the Job Corps, Head Start, VISTA, Upward Bound, and other programs as the architect of the 1960s War on Poverty. Emmy Rose Cuvelier of South Dakota crowned her successor Alissa Anderegg of New York at the end of the event and was originally to represent United States at Miss World 2021. However, Anderegg ended her reign on October 3, 2021, and Shree Saini of Washington who was appointed the role of Miss World America 2021 and competed at Miss World 2021 where she placed as 1st Runner-Up.
