Miss World 2019 was the 69th edition of the Miss World pageant, held at the ExCeL London in London, United Kingdom on 14 December 2019. [1] [2]
At the end of the event, Vanessa Ponce of Mexico crowned Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica as Miss World 2019. [3] [4] It is the fourth victory of Jamaica in the history of the pageant. [5] [6]
Contestants from 111 countries and territories competed in the pageant. The pageant was hosted by Peter Andre, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle, and Fernando Allende. Peter Andre, Lulu, Misunderstood, and Kerry Ellis performed in this edition. [7]
The official announcement was made on 19 February 2019, in Bangkok, by Miss World President Julia Morley, CEO Tanawat Wansom of TW Pageants, and guest Ashwani Kumar Rai. They announced a mid-December date for the contest. [8] [9]
However, on 2 July 2019, Morley and Vanessa Ponce, the reigning Miss World, appeared on ITV's Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan. Morley officially announced that the pageant will be held on Saturday, 14 December 2019, at ExCeL London and that Miss World 2020 will be held in Thailand in order to celebrate Miss World's 70th anniversary. The 2019 opening ceremony was held in London on 20 November. Contestants then competed in a series of fast track events around London. [10]

For the first time, all 10 finalists were placed in the Top 40 of Miss World 2019 due to their impressive projects and initiatives. Miss Nepal, Anushka Shrestha, received the award and will receive funding from the Miss World Organization for the establishment of her project.

Miss World is the oldest existing international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. Since his death in 2000, Morley's widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant. Along with Miss Universe, Miss International, and Miss Earth, it is one of the Big Four beauty pageants.
The Miss Colorado competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Colorado in the Miss America pageant. The Colorado representative has won the Miss America crown on four occasions.
The Miss Montana competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the U.S. state of Montana in the Miss America pageant.
The Señorita Panamá is a national beauty pageant in Panama. As of the 2024 edition, Señorita Panamá winners represent Panamá in Miss Universe and Miss International. The Miss Panama brand started in 1952, when the Panamanian Institute of Tourism received an invitation from Miss Universe to send a representative. In 1975, the Señorita Panamá name was used for the first time, reverting to Miss Panama in 1976. Rolene Strauss of South Africa crowned her successor Mireia Lalaguna of Spain at the end of the event. It was the first time in the history of Miss World that Spain won the pageant.
Miss World 2016, the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 December 2016, at the MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States. 117 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain crowned her successor Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico at the end of the event. It was the second time that the Miss World pageant held in the United States. It was the second time where Puerto Rico won Miss World, after Wilnelia Merced in 1975.

Perla Helou (born 10 July 1995) is a Lebanese model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Lebanon in 2017.
