Miss World 1963 was the 13th edition of the Miss World pageant, held at the Lyceum Ballroom, London, United Kingdom, on 7 November 1963. Catharina Lodders of Holland crowned Carole Crawford of Jamaica at the conclusion of the event. [1]
This edition marked the debut of Chile, Colombia, Liberia, Malaysia, and Nigeria, and the return of Bolivia, Ceylon, Mexico, Peru, Suriname, Tunisia, and Turkey. Mexico, last competed in 1951, Tunisia last competed in 1957, Peru last competed in 1959 and Bolivia, Ceylon, Suriname and Turkey last competed in 1961. Ecuador, India, Italy, the Republic of China, and Uruguay withdrew from the competition due to their national organizations failed to hold a national competition or appoint a delegate.
