Miss World 2000, was the 50th anniversary of the Miss World pageant, held at the Millennium Dome in London, United Kingdom on 30 November 2000. Portions of the pageant were also filmed in the Maldives. [3]
At the end of the event, Yukta Mookhey of India crowned Priyanka Chopra of India as Miss World 2000. [4] She is the fifth Miss World and the second successive winner from her country. Internationally, Chopra reigned alongside Miss Universe 2000 titleholder Lara Dutta, marking the most recent time (as of 2024) that any country has held the two most prestigious beauty pageant titles in the world in a single year. The pageant was the first since the death of pageant owner Eric Morley, whose widow Julia Morley assumed responsibility for the event. The pageant had 95 contestants, the highest number of Miss World participants at that time.

Jacqueline Bracamontes Van Hoorde is a Mexican actress, former model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Nuestra Belleza Jalisco 2000, Nuestra Belleza México 2000 and represented her country at Miss Universe 2001.
The Mexicana Universal is a national beauty pageant in Mexico held annually since 2018, replacing the former pageant, Nuestra Belleza México, held since 1994. Currently, the pageant is responsible for selecting the country's delegates to Miss International, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Charm, Nuestra Latinoamericana Universal, and Miss Orb International. Nájera was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Rosa María Ojeda. She is the first and only Guanajuatense to win this title.

Thirty-two contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Leticia Murray from Sonora, who later competed at Miss Universe 2000 in Cyprus. Murray was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Silvia Salgado. She is the second blonde and only Sonorense to win this title.

Cruz was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Jacqueline Bracamontes. She is the first and only Yucateca and the third winner of foreign descent to win this Title.
