Miss World Bangladesh is a national beauty pageant in Bangladesh that annually selects representatives to compete in Miss World, one of the Big Four major international beauty pageants. Miss World Bangladesh is organised by Omicon Entertainment. [2]
The Reigning Miss World Bangladesh is Shammi Islam Nila of Dhaka who was crowned by the outgoing titleholder Rafah Nanjeba Torsa on January 28, 2024 at Mana Bey . [3]
Omicon Entertainment and Antar Showbiz jointly created Miss World Bangladesh to be the country's first nationwide pageant for 2 years ( 2017–2018 ). The event's mission is to support the empowerment of women and the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at an international level, from 2019 Omicon Entertainment has got the license, and they holding the event professionally.
In October 2017, Jannatul Nayeem Avril became the first winner of Miss World Bangladesh. She was dethroned a week later, after it was discovered that she was not 26, but 27 years old and had been previously married. [4] Jessia Islam, the runner-up, took over the title and had the rights to represent Bangladesh at Miss World 2017. [5]

A beauty pageant is a competition traditionally focused on judging and ranking the contestants' physical attributes. Pageants have now moved towards including inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The Señorita Panamá is a national beauty pageant in Panama. As of the 2024 edition, Señorita Panamá winners represent Panamá in Miss Universe and Miss International. The Miss Panama brand started in 1952, when the Panamanian Institute of Tourism received an invitation from Miss Universe to send a representative. In 1975, the Señorita Panamá name was used for the first time, reverting to Miss Panama in 1976. Miss International 2018, the 58th Miss International pageant, was held on 9 November 2018, at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Kevin Lilliana from Indonesia crowned her successor Mariem Velazco from Venezuela at the end of the event. This marks Venezuela's eighth victory at Miss International - the most in the pageant's history. This is the third time in Miss International history that the finals night saw the return of the previous year's runners-up to crown their respective successors. This year Miss International comeback edition with the theme "Cheer All Woman" alongside Miss International Japan 2019.
