Cristian Quirante Catalán (born 1984), better known by his stage name Alizzz, [1] [2] is a Spanish record producer, [3] songwriter, and singer [4] [5] [6] from Castelldefels, [7] [8] [9] Catalunya. To date he has been awarded a total of 2 diamond, 35 platinum, and 6 gold certified for recordings produced in Spain and Internationally for his production work. [10] In 2021 the Latin Grammy Awards nominated Alizzz for 6 awards including for Producer of the Year. [11] and awarded him 3 Latin Grammy Awards including Latin Grammy Award for Best Pop/Rock Song, "Hong Kong" by C. Tangana, featuring Andres Calamaro, Best Alternative Song for "Nominao", by C. Tangana featuring Jorge Drexler, and the Latin Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album.

History

Alizzz's career started in 2012 with the release of the single "Neon Lights", released via the UK label MofoHifi. [12] Following his Whoa! EP, for Spanish label Arkestra, [13] at the end of 2013 he signed to Diplo's Mad Decent, [14] through which he released the Sunshine EP, [15] and shortly after began touring internationally. [16] In 2015, he released the single "Your Love" [17] on digital label Moving Castle, from the USA. In June 2018, Alizzz headlined Sónar festival's 25th anniversary edition. [18]

In 2020, Alizzz launched a new solo artistic project, showcasing his singing and interpretation alongside his writing and producing, to date he has released songs featuring Spanish singer Amaia (singer). [19] and long term music partner C. Tangana. [20] His debut album "Tiene que haber algo más" [21] was released on his own label through a distribution deal with Warner Music Spain.

Collaborations

Alizzz's first production work was in 2016, with C. Tangana [22] and Rosalia, with whom he wrote and produced the singles "Antes de Morirme" [23] and "Llámame más tarde". [24] He continued to work with C. Tangana, eventually producing his debut album, ÍDOLO, [25] which was produced and recorded between September 2016 and June 2017. In June 2017, the C. Tangana song, produced by Alizzz, "Mala Mujer" was released, and went on to be awarded triple platinum in Spain. [26] The track "Tú Me Dejaste De Querer", performed by C. Tangana, Niño de Elche and La Húngara, produced by Alizzz, became the first Spanish release to receive a Gold Certification in its first week of release. [27]

In February 2021 C.Tangana released his second album El Madrileño, again produced by Alizzz. [28] [29] [30] [31] For the week of its release the album was the most streamed album in Spain and globally on Spotify. [32]

Whoa! Music

In January 2019, Alizzz launched Whoa! Music, a record label, in partnership with Warner Records Spain. [33] The concept of the label is to develop and release Spanish and Latin American artists from the "new pop" scene. Artists signed to the label include Alizzz, [34] Paula Cendejas, [35] Coral Casino [36] and Robie. [37]

Antón Álvarez Alfaro, known professionally as C. Tangana, is a Spanish rapper. He began his musical career while in high school, rapping under the pseudonym Crema and releasing a seven-track EP titled Él Es Crema (2005). He gained recognition in Spain as a member of the band Agorazein. In 2016, Tangana began performing as a solo act under the stage name C. Tangana.

Miriam Doblas Muñoz, known professionally as Lola Índigo, is a Spanish singer and dancer. She rose to fame in 2017, when she participated in series nine of the Spanish reality television talent competition Operación Triunfo. She was the first participant to be eliminated from the talent show. After exiting the show, the singer signed with Universal Music and released her debut single "Ya No Quiero Ná" which turned into a smash-hit in Spain, peaking at number three on the PROMUSICAE musical chart and selling more than a hundred thousand copies. It was certified as three times platinum. Her short but intense musical career has earned her multiple awards such as an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Spanish Act in 2019 and in 2019.

"Antes de morirme" is a song recorded by Spanish rapper C. Tangana featuring Spanish flamenco singer Rosalía. It was written by the performers and produced by Alizzz. The song was released on June 30, 2016 through Sony Music Spain. It is a sleeper hit since it became surprisingly popular in the summer of 2018 after Rosalía began to receive international attention and after it was included in the soundtrack of the first season of the Spanish Netflix show Élite (2018). The song peaked at 26 on the Spanish Music Charts (PROMUSICAE).

"Me quedo" is a song recorded by Spanish singer Aitana in collaboration with Lola Indigo. Produced by El Guincho and Alizzz, the song was released as the third and final single of Aitana's debut studio album Spoiler (2019) on 28 June 2019 through Universal Music. Its respective music video was produced by Canada Editorial.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Nathy Peluso</span> Argentine singer (born 1985)

Natalia "Nathy" Peluso is an Argentine, Spanish, and Italian singer and songwriter. Born in Argentina and raised in Spain, Peluso became interested in the performing arts at an early age, performing cover songs at musical bars in her teenage years. After graduating King Juan Carlos University, Peluso relocated to Barcelona to pursue a professional career in music, with her first releases Esmeralda (2017) and La Sandunguera (2018) being confected independently. Peluso slowly started to become recognized in Spain. After signing to Sony Music, she started working on her breakthrough album Calambre (2020) for which she won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2021. Her second studio album, Grasa, was released in 2024.

"Tú me dejaste de querer" a song recorded by Spanish singer and rapper C. Tangana from his second studio album El Madrileño (2021). The track features singers La Húngara and Niño de Elche and was written by the singer himself, along with Juan Antonio Jiménez Muñoz, Cristian Quirante Catalán and Javier Rodríguez de Antonio. It was produced by Alizzz. It was released on 5 November 2020 through Sony Music as the album's third single.

<i>El Madrileño</i> 2021 studio album by C. Tangana

El Madrileño is the second studio album by Spanish rapper and singer-songwriter C. Tangana. Written by Tangana and co-produced with Alizzz, the album was released through Sony Music on February 26, 2021. With this record, Tangana ventured into a more organic and guitar oriented sound to his previous hip hop and urban releases, focusing in a collaboration album as a tribute to his wide roots. Twelve out of fourteen tracks are in collaboration with other renowned Latin folk, rock or flamenco artists from many countries and ages. The result is a colored mosaic of Tangana's teenage influences and the adoption of a new alter ego named after the album.

<i>Bien</i> (EP) 2020 EP by C. Tangana

Bien (stylized as Bien: is the first extended play by Spanish singer-songwriter and rapper C. Tangana. Written by Tangana and co-produced with Alizzz and some other usual collaborators, the EP was released on May 14, 2020 through Sony Music. Mainly composed during the COVID-19 pandemic national lockdown in Spain, the extended play shows Tangana's evolution to a more emo and melodic rap field. It spawned two singles prior to its release, "Nunca Estoy" and "Guille Asesino". The project was re-released for its vinyl edition on October 21 and included a new track "Ojalá" alongside Chico Blanco.

"Booty" is a Spanish-English song by Spanish rapper C. Tangana and American singer Becky G. It was released by Sony Spain on October 24, 2018. "Booty" was certified double platinum in Spain and triple platinum in the United States. Its music video was nominated for Best Music Video at the 2020 Premios Odeón.

Rafael “Rafa” Arcaute, is an Argentine songwriter, record producer and recording engineer. Written by both performers alongside Alizzz and Víctor Martínez and produced by the mentioned plus Rafa Arcaute, the track was released on 8 October 2021 through Sony Music Spain as a single from the reissue of the 2021 album El Madrileño, titled La Sobremesa (2022). "Ateo" met great commercial success, debuting at number one on the Spanish charts, becoming Peluso's first number one single in the country as well as Tangana's fourth.
