Alkis Dimitris (Greek : Άλκης Δημήτρης; born 23 July 1980) is a Greek football manager and former professional player who played as a defender. He has spent the majority of his career representing Cretan clubs in various leagues of the Greek football league system, including the Greek Superleague.
Born in Sarandë, Dimitris' family moved to Heraklion, Crete where he began playing football with Ergotelis in the Delta Ethniki. [1] He was instrumental in helping Ergotelis earn consecutive promotions, which eventually brought the club in the Greek Superleague in 2004. During this period, Dimitris made a total of 83 appearances and scored 5 goals for the Cretan club. He then went on to play for one season with Veria in the 2005–06 Beta Ethniki, followed by a six-month move to Cypriot club AEP Paphos. Afterwards, Dimitris returned to Greece and went on to play for 2nd division clubs Kallithea, Ilioupoli and Fokikos, before returning to Crete and signing with Football League side Platanias. He spent six months with Platanias in the Football League, and an additional four years in the Greek Superleague, after the club achieved promotion to the latter during the 2011–12 Football League season. [2] On 19 June 2016, the 35-year old defender returned to Ergotelis. [3] He was released from his contract in January 2017, and subsequently joined another Cretan club competing in the Gamma Ethniki, AEEK INKA. [4] He followed the club in their relegation to the Chania Football Clubs Association A Division championship, where he retired his playing career in the summer of 2018, having won the local championship. After retiring, Dimitris was offered the head coach position of Chania FCA A Division club Doxa Pachiana. [6]
Ergotelis Football Club is a Greek professional football club based in Heraklion, Crete, which competes in the FCA Heraklion A1, the fourth tier of the Greek football league system, and hosts its home games at the Pankritio Stadium. Established in 1929 and named after the ancient Cretan Olympic runner, it is part of Gymnastics Club Ergotelis.

G.S. Ergotelis Basketball, also known simply as Ergotelis, is a Greek amateur basketball club, part of the multi-sport club Gymnastics Club Ergotelis, that is based in Heraklion, Crete. The club's basketball department currently competes in the Greek C Basket League, and was officially founded in 1968, the same year it joined the registers of the Greek Federation of Sporting Clubs. In 1983, Ergotelis was one of the clubs that signed the establishment of the Cretan Basketball Associations Union. Currently, both men's and women's basketball departments are amateur clubs, that host home games at the Lido Indoor Hall in Heraklion, a basketball court with a capacity of 1,400 spectators. Ergotelis currently holds the record for most regional titles won in Crete, having won a total of 16 regional Championships and 3 Cretan Cups, since the Cretan Local Basketball Committee, the governing body of basketball on the island, was founded in 1968.
