The All-Russian Mathematical Portal (better known as Math-Net.Ru) is a web portal that provides extensive access to all aspects of Russian mathematics, including journals, organizations, conferences, articles, videos, libraries, software, and people. [1] [2] The portal is a joint project of the Steklov Mathematical Institute and the Russian Academy of Sciences. Access to information in the portal is generally free, except for the full-text sources of certain publications which have elected to make their content available on a fee basis. [3]
As of 2016 [update] , the All-Russian Mathematical Portal contains links to 108 periodicals, 5106 organizations, over 160,000 mathematical and scientific articles, and over 86,000 people. The website can be read in either Russian or English. As a standard default, it renders on-screen mathematics using MathJax. [3]
MathSciNet is a searchable online bibliographic database created by the American Mathematical Society in 1996. It contains all of the contents of the journal Mathematical Reviews (MR) since 1940 along with an extensive author database, links to other MR entries, citations, full journal entries, and links to original articles. It contains almost 3.6 million items and over 2.3 million links to original articles.
Nikolay Nikolayevich Bogolyubov, also transliterated as Bogoliubov and Bogolubov, was a Soviet and Russian mathematician and theoretical physicist known for a significant contribution to quantum field theory, classical and quantum statistical mechanics, and the theory of dynamical systems; he was the recipient of the 1992 Dirac Medal.
Aleksei Vasil'evich Pogorelov, was a Soviet mathematician. Specialist in the field of convex and differential geometry, geometric PDEs and elastic shells theory, the author of the novel school textbook on geometry and university textbooks on analytical geometry, on differential geometry, and on foundations of geometry.
Roland Lvovich Dobrushin was a mathematician who made important contributions to probability theory, mathematical physics, and information theory.
Semën Samsonovich Kutateladze is a mathematician. He is known for contributions to functional analysis and its applications to vector lattices and optimization. In particular, he has made contributions to the calculus of subdifferentials for vector-lattice valued functions, to whose study he introduced methods of Boolean-valued models and infinitesimals.
Vladimir Leonidovich Popov is a Russian mathematician working in the invariant theory and the theory of transformation groups.
Aleksandr Adol'fovich Buchstab was a Soviet mathematician who worked in number theory and was "known for his work in sieve methods". He is the namesake of the Buchstab function, which he wrote about in 1937.
Vladimir Savel'evich Buslaev was a Russian mathematical physicist.
Aleksei Nikolaevich Parshin was a Russian mathematician, specializing in arithmetic geometry. He is most well-known for his role in the proof of the Mordell conjecture.
Alexander Gennadyevich Kuznetsov is a Russian mathematician working at the Steklov Mathematical Institute and the Interdisciplinary Scientific Center J.-V. Poncelet, Moscow, and head of the Laboratory of Algebraic Geometry and its Applications of the Higher School of Economics. He graduated from Moscow State School 57 in 1990. He received a Ph.D. in 1998 under the supervision of Alexei Bondal. Kuznetsov is known for his research in algebraic geometry, mostly concerning derived categories of coherent sheaves and their semiorthogonal decompositions.
Alexey Georgiyevich Postnikov was a Russian mathematician, who worked on analytic number theory. He is known for the Postnikov character formula, which expresses the value of a Dirichlet character by means of a trigonometric function of a polynomial with rational coefficients.
In January 2008, Russian, Belarusian, and Ukrainian academics issued the "Belgorod Declaration" in support of open access to scientific and cultural knowledge. Russian supporters of the international "Open Access 2020" campaign, launched in 2016, include Belgorod State University, National Electronic Information Consortium (NEICON), and Webpublishers Association.
Alexandre Mikhailovich Vinogradov was a Russian and Italian mathematician. He made important contributions to the areas of differential calculus over commutative algebras, the algebraic theory of differential operators, homological algebra, differential geometry and algebraic topology, mechanics and mathematical physics, the geometrical theory of nonlinear partial differential equations and secondary calculus.
