All India Radio is an Australian electronic band. Their style includes genres such as lo-fi, downtempo and instrumental. The founding (and constant) member of the band is Martin Kennedy. [1] Their debut album, The Inevitable, was released in 1999. [2]

Contents

All India Radio have had their music featured in film and TV including CSI: Miami , One Tree Hill , Sicko , Till Human Voices Wake Us , Big Brother Australia , Bondi Rescue and Recruits . Kennedy, with All India Radio and Steve Kilbey, provided the original soundtrack music for the Australian film The Rare Earth.

All India Radio's self-titled third album was nominated for an Australian Recording Industry Award (ARIA) Award in 2003. [3] The band has worked with Steve Kilbey, Graham Lee, Ed Kuepper, and David Bridie, among others.

Wired Magazine described the group's sound as "mash[ing] the ambient-hop signatures of DJ Shadow, Tortoise and Thievery Corporation with the instantly recognizable guitar sound tracking of Ennio Morricone and Angelo Badalamenti." [4]

All India Radio's 19th studio album The Generator of All Infinity was released in September 2022. [5]

The Church are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1980. Initially associated with new wave, neo-psychedelia, and indie rock, their music later came to feature slower tempos and surreal soundscapes reminiscent of alternative rock, dream pop, and post-rock. Glenn A. Baker has written that "From the release of the 'She Never Said' single in November 1980, this unique Sydney-originated entity has purveyed a distinctive, ethereal, psychedelic-tinged sound which has alternatively found favour and disfavour in Australia." The Los Angeles Times has described the band's music as "dense, shimmering, exquisite guitar pop".

"Under the Milky Way" is a single by Australian alternative rock band the Church, released on 15 February 1988, and appears on their fifth studio album Starfish. The song was written by bass guitarist and lead vocalist Steve Kilbey and his then-girlfriend Karin Jansson of Curious (Yellow). It peaked at No. 22 on the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Chart, No. 24 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 and No. 25 on the New Zealand Singles Chart; it also appeared in the Dutch Single Top 100. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1989, the song won 'Single of the Year'. It was issued simultaneously in both 7" vinyl and 12" vinyl formats by Arista Records (internationally) and Mushroom Records.

Midnight Juggernauts were an Australian band from Melbourne, composed of Andrew Szekeres, Vincent Vendetta, and Daniel Stricker. The band has been described as anything from 'prog dance meets cosmic film scores', to 'slasher-flick disco' to 'deadpan landscape'. Following the release of numerous 7" and 12" singles, and limited edition EPs, the band released their debut album, Dystopia. After playing festivals and headlining tours worldwide during late 2007–2008, the band finished working on their follow up album The Crystal Axis, touring around its release mid-2010 at festivals and headline shows around the globe. Twelve Foot Ninja were an Australian heavy metal band from Melbourne, Victoria. They released their debut album Silent Machine in 2012. The band consists of Kin (vocals), Russ (drums), Stevic, and Rohan. They won Best New Talent at the 2014 Revolver Golden Gods Awards as well as two listener-voted awards from SiriusXM's Liquid Metal the year before. The band broke a world record for the most amount crowdfunded for a music video. Their first headline tour of Europe in April 2017 sold out five of the seven UK shows. In mid 2022, the band announced an "indefinite hiatus". Although, they are working on an acoustic album of Twelve Foot Ninja material. The album was released on 11 July 2024 titled Mutant Dreams and Face Transplants: An Acoustic Experience. On the same day as the album's release, the band announced they had broken up.

Nonagon Infinity is the eighth studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. It was released on 29 April 2016 on ATO Records. The album is designed to play as an "infinite loop" where each song segues into the next and the last song segues into the first, so that "the record can be played front-to-back-to-front-to-back and the sound won't break". The title is a reference to this idea, as there are nine songs on the album that could be played "infinitely".

Bassist and founding vocalist John Arnold stated that "the name Alpha Wolf came from the movie The Grey". Sly Withers are an Australian alternative rock band from Perth, Western Australia. Mike Katz, known professionally as Harvey Sutherland is an Australian producer, bandleader and synthesist from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. His debut studio album Boy was released in April 2022.
