FUBU is an American hip hop apparel company. FUBU stands for "For Us, By Us" and was created when the founders were brainstorming for a catchy four-letter word following other big brands such as Nike and Coke. It includes casual wear, sports wear, a suit collection, eyewear, belts, and shoes.
John David Jackson, better known by his stage name Fabolous, is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York City. Jackson's career began when he was a senior in high school and ended up rapping live on American record producer and music executive DJ Clue's radio show, then on Hot 97. Jackson was subsequently signed by DJ Clue to his label Desert Storm, and later secured a distribution deal with Elektra Records. Fabolous' first release, Ghetto Fabolous (2001), spawned the hit singles "Can't Deny It" and "Young'n ", which led Jackson to prominence. His second release was 2003's Street Dreams, which was supported by two Top 10 singles "Can't Let You Go" and "Into You".
Joseph Lewis Thomas, known mononymously as Joe, is an American singer, songwriter and record producer. Raised in Opelika, Alabama, he later relocated to New Jersey and he signed a record deal with Polygram Records in 1992. He rose to prominence after releasing his debut album Everything the following year. He followed it with a series of successful albums under Jive Records, including All That I Am (1997), the international bestseller My Name Is Joe (2000) as well as the multi-certified albums Better Days (2001) and And Then... (2003). Several songs from these albums became hit singles on the pop and R&B record charts, including the number-one hit "Stutter", the top ten entries "All the Things ", "Don't Wanna Be a Player", and "I Wanna Know" as well as his collaborations "Faded Pictures", "Thank God I Found You" and "Still Not a Player".
Victor Santiago, Jr., better known by his stage name N.O.R.E., or Noreaga, is an American rapper, actor and media personality. Santiago first rose to prominence as one half of the East Coast hip hop duo Capone-N-Noreaga (C-N-N), alongside fellow Queens-based rapper Capone. He would also have success as a solo artist with the singles "Superthug", "Banned from T.V.", "Nothin'", "Oye Mi Canto" and "Mas Maiz". He was born and raised in Queens, New York.
The discography of Nas, an American rapper, consists of thirteen studio albums, five compilations, one extended play, and seventy-nine singles. The son of jazz musician Olu Dara, Nas dropped out of school during ninth grade and began his music career in 1991 with a guest performance on the song "Live at the Barbeque" by Main Source. In 1992, Nas featured on the MC Serch posse cut, “Back to the Grill”, alongside Chubb Rock and Red Hot Lover Tone, and later contributed the track, "Halftime" to the soundtrack to the film, Zebrahead. Soon Nas ignited enough hype and signed to Columbia Records, where he released his debut album Illmatic in 1994. It Was Written was certified double platinum. In 1999, Nas released two albums: I Am... and Nastradamus. While I Am reached double platinum status like its preceding album It Was Written and spawned two singles that reached the top ten spots of the Hot Rap Singles chart, "Hate Me Now" and "Nas Is Like", Nastradamus signaled a decrease in quality and critical reception and sold only half as many units. Still, Nastradamus featured two charting singles, "You Owe Me", "Nastradamus" and was certified platinum.

"Nothin' on You" is the debut single of both American rapper B.o.B and singer Bruno Mars, from B.o.B's debut studio album, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray (2010). It was first released on December 15, 2009 via digital download by Atlantic Records. The track was written by B.o.B and its producers Mars, Philip Lawrence, and Ari Levine of The Smeezingtons. "Nothin' on You" was initially written for Lupe Fiasco, but Atlantic Records' chairman, Craig Kallman, gave it to B.o.B after being displeased with Fiasco's version. The song took several months to finish and was born from a hummed melody by Mars and Lawrence.
The Goodlife is a compilation album released by clothing company FUBU in conjunction with Universal Records. It was released on September 25, 2001 and consisted of a blend of hip hop and contemporary R&B. The Goodlife peaked at 52 on the Billboard 200 and 9 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. FUBU Partner Carl Brown served as President of FUBU Records and Executive Producer of the album.
The 54th Platoon are an American rap group who were the only artists signed to the short-lived FUBU Records. The group consisted of four members; JS, TL, Big Nut and Nu Black, all of whom came from New Orleans. They first released two independent albums in 1999 and 2000 entitled From Then... Till Now and Downtown Symphony , before joining FUBU in 2001. The group appeared on FUBU's compilation album, The Good Life, collaborating with Nas and Nate Dogg on the track "Good Life". A year later, they would release their debut album All or Nothin'. It made three Billboard charts, including 21 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, but it was not a commercial success. In 2003, FUBU Records closed down and the group disbanded.

He was later featured on "All I Want Is You", a 2010 single by American R&B singer Miguel – it peaked at number 58 on the US Billboard Hot 100. J. Cole's third mixtape Friday Night Lights was released on November 12, 2010.
