The White House Farm murders took place near the village of Tolleshunt D'Arcy, Essex, England, during the night of 6–7 August 1985. Nevill and June Bamber were shot and killed inside their farmhouse at White House Farm along with their adopted daughter, Sheila Caffell, and Sheila's six-year-old twin sons, Daniel and Nicholas Caffell. The only surviving member of the immediate family was the adopted son, Jeremy Bamber, then aged 24, who said he had been at home a few miles away when the shooting took place.

Christine Madeleine Odette Lagarde is a French politician and lawyer who has been the President of the European Central Bank since 2019. She previously served as the 11th Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2011 to 2019. Lagarde had also served in the Government of France, most prominently as Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry from 2007 until 2011. She is the first woman to hold each of those posts.

The Dupont de Ligonnès murders and disappearance also known as "la tuerie de Nantes" involved the murder of five members of the same family in Nantes, Loire-Atlantique, France, followed by the disappearance of the patriarch of the family, Xavier Pierre Marie Dupont de Ligonnès. His wife, Agnès Dupont de Ligonnès, and their four children, Arthur, Thomas, Anne and Benoît along with the family's two dogs, were killed on an undetermined day in early April 2011. Their bodies were found buried in their garden on April 21. Xavier disappeared at the same time and has not been found. The exact nature of the events has never been determined, but Xavier is the subject of an international arrest warrant and is considered the prime suspect in the murders.

The first season of eight episodes was broadcast in Canada from December 12, 2019 and in France as The Wall: Cover Your Tracks from April 26, 2020 via 13ème Rue. The second season, La Faille 2 or The Wall: The Chateau Murder, of nine episodes was broadcast from October 17, 2021. La Faille 3: La Verger or The Wall: The Orchard, the third and final season of eight episodes, was aired on November 16, 2022.
The 2023 New Year Honours are appointments by some of the 15 Commonwealth realms to various orders and honours to recognise and reward good works by citizens of those countries. The New Year Honours are awarded as part of the New Year celebrations at the start of January and those for 2023 were announced on 30 December 2022.
