Allsvenskan (literally, "The National League") is the second tier in the league system of Speedway in Sweden and currently comprises six motorcycle speedway teams.
Until the introduction of the Elitserien in 1982 the Allsvenskan was the highest level of Swedish Speedway.

From the start of Swedish league speedway in 1948 until 1981 the Allsvenskan was the top speedway league in Sweden. But in 1982 the Elitserien was formed and the Allsvenskan became the second level of Swedish speedway. Speedway meetings in Sweden are normally held between May and September. The teams are generally known by nicknames rather than club or city names. These nicknames usually have some sort of local connection.
As with the Elitserien and the Speedway Elite League in the UK, the top four teams at the end of each season compete in the playoffs in semi-finals and a final. The winner of the final are crowned the champions and are often promoted to the Elitserien, although teams sometimes decline that opportunity.
Unlike in British speedway the Swedish leagues have a squad from which the choose 7 riders for each meeting. The two riders with the lowest consecutive match average must be placed as reserves in jackets number 6 and 7.
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock. Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track, the motorcycles reach speeds of up to 70 miles per hour (110 km/h).
HockeyAllsvenskan is a professional ice hockey league, and the second-highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system, after the SHL. Since the 2009–10 season, the league has consisted of fourteen teams.
Njudungarna or Vetlanda Speedway are a motorcycle speedway team based in Vetlanda, Sweden, who comepete in the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. They race at the Vetlanda Motorstadion and are eleven times champions of Sweden.
Smederna is a motorcycle speedway club based in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The club competes in the highest speedway league in Sweden called the Elitserien and race its home matches at Smedstadion outside Eskilstuna. Smederna has won six Swedish Speedway Team Championships.
Elitserien is the highest league in the league system of speedway in Sweden and currently comprises the top eight Swedish speedway teams. The first season began in 1982. Before that Allsvenskan was the highest division. The winner of the Elitserien is crowned the Swedish Speedway Team Championship winner.
Niels Kristian Trochmann Iversen is an international motorcycle speedway rider. He is a seven times national champion of Denmark and was part of the Danish teams that won the Speedway World Cup in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014.
Rospiggarna is a motorcycle speedway team based in Hallstavik, Sweden. They ride in the Elitserien are five times champions of Sweden.

Dackarna is a motorcycle speedway club from Målilla in Sweden who compete in the Swedish Elitserien. Their home track is at the Skrotfrag Arena which was the venue for the Grand Prix of Scandinavia and is the current venue for the Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden. They ride in the Elitserien and are six times champions of Sweden.
Lejonen is a motorcycle speedway team from Gislaved in Sweden, who compete in the Elitserien. Their home track is at the Gislaved Motorbana or the OnePartnerGroup Arena for sponsorship purposes, which is Sweden's oldest track still in use. The club are two times champions of Sweden.

Hockeyettan is the third tier of ice hockey in Sweden. As of the 2015–16 season, the league consists of 39 teams divided geographically into four groups. Hockeyettan operates a system of promotion and relegation with HockeyAllsvenskan and Division 2.

Hammarby IF Speedway was a Swedish motorcycle speedway team based in Stockholm, Sweden. The club has not been competing in the domestic leagues since 2016, after their home ground Gubbängens IP was demolished. Their biggest success was winning the bronze medal in Elitserien in 2007.
