Alvin Prouder is a former American professional kickboxer, former professional boxer, former sport Karate fighter and actor. Alvin is a former Professional Karate Association and World Kickboxing Association champion. [1] [2] Prouder was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2022. [3]
Prouder was born in Columbus, Mississippi and later moved to Culver City, California with his sister Cynthia Prouder, who is also a former professional kickboxer, former professional boxer and actor. [4] When Prouder was 25 he was shot in the head over a gang fight involving his cousin. [2] Prouder recovered, but the incident ended his kickboxing and boxing career. [4] [5]
In March of 1979 Prouder won the World Kickboxing Association Super Welterweight title against Toshihiro Nishiki. [1] In March of 1980, Prouder retained his Super Welterweight title against Marc Costello in Las Vegas, Nevada. [1] In 1980 the STAR System World Kickboxing Ratings had Prouder as the Super Welterweight champion. [6]
In April of 1982, Prouder lost a Super-Welterweight title fight to Bob Thurman via unanimous decision. [7] In July of 1982, Prouder defeated Jeff Gripper by TKO to win the Professional Karate Association Welterweight title. [8]
In 1984, Prouder defeated Dwayne Wyatt via TKO to retain the title. In February of 1985, Prouder lost the Professional Karate Association Welterweight title to Johnny Davis via decision. [8] In November of 1985, Prouder regained the Professional Karate Association Welterweight title against Ricky Haynes. [8]
Prouder fought as a professional boxer from 1983 to 1985. He fought 9 fights winning 8 and losing only 1. [9]
Prouder appeared in the 1993 film Full Contact starring Jerry Trimble. [10]
Prouder was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2022. [3]
Bonnie Canino is a retired American boxer and kickboxer, and former world featherweight champion for two different associations. She also won world titles in kick boxing for two different associations.
Benny Urquidez is an American former professional kickboxer, martial arts choreographer and actor. Nicknamed "The Jet" and "The Elton John song guy", Urquidez was a non-contact karate competitor who later pioneered full-contact fighting in the United States. He made the transition from point to full-contact karate in 1974, the year of its inception in the US, frequently fighting in bouts where the rules were ambiguous and contrasts in styles were dramatic. Urquidez is also known for once holding the rare achievement of six world titles in five different weight divisions, and remained largely undefeated in his 27-year career. His only loss came in a Muay Thai match which was shrouded in controversy, as Urquidez had only agreed to a no-decision exhibition, a clause which was ignored when the fight had ended.

Troy Glenn Dorsey is a former U.S. boxer and kickboxer who competed in the bantamweight, featherweight and lightweight divisions. Known predominantly for his physical endurance and power, Dorsey began his martial arts training in karate and taekwondo at the age of ten before later making the switch to full contact kickboxing. He was a three-time kickboxing world champion as well as a gold medalist of the WAKO Amateur World Championships in both 1985 (London) and 1987 (Munich). He then began dedicating himself to boxing in 1989. He won the IBF World Featherweight Championship and IBO World Super Featherweight Championship before retiring in 1998.
Dennis Alexio is an American former professional kickboxer and actor who competed in the light heavyweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. Beginning his career as a light heavyweight in 1980, Alexio embarked on an extensive, knockout-laden undefeated streak before losing a decision to Don "The Dragon" Wilson in a World Kickboxing Association (WKA) World Super Light Heavyweight Full Contact Championship match in 1984. He rebounded from this by winning the Professional Karate Association (PKA) World Light Heavyweight title that same year before moving up to cruiserweight and taking the International Sport Karate Association (ISKA) World Cruiserweight Full Contact title.

Graciela Casillas is an American former boxer and kickboxer who competed in the bantamweight division. After training in several traditional martial arts, Casillas began competing as a kickboxer in 1976, and in 1979 she became the first fighter to hold world titles in both boxing and kickboxing by taking the World Women's Boxing Association's and the World Kickboxing Association's bantamweight championships. Although Casillas' Boxrec record is 5–0, Black Belt Magazine reported in May 1984 that she had 27 boxing matches, winning 15 by KO up to that point.

Peter "Sugarfoot" Cunningham is a retired Canadian 7-time World Champion Hall of Fame kickboxer, boxer, martial artist, actor and author. Rated by experts as one of the greatest full contact fighters of all time, Sugarfoot was a superb technician who possessed high fighting I.Q. and lightning speed. He retired from kickboxing in 1996 with a record of 50-1-1, having avenged the only draw of his career but only one defeated Peter, the undefeated Richard Sylla at the WKA World Title in Paris. Cunningham's skills in the ring have been praised by many martial arts legends, including Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, Chuck Norris, Dan Inosanto, Rigan Machado, Don "The Dragon" Wilson and many others. Cunningham maintained a high level competition throughout his career as most of his opponents were either current or former champions. In 1998 in San Jose, California, Peter was honored as the inaugural inductee in the I.S.K.A. Hall of Fame.

Kevin Rosier was an American kickboxer, boxer and mixed martial artist. He had much success as a kickboxer, winning a number of titles, but did not transition particularly well into the world of boxing and was mostly seen as a journeyman fighter.
