The Federal National Council (FNC) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is an advisory quasi-parliamentary body in the UAE. The FNC consists of 40 members. Twenty of the members are indirectly elected by the hand-picked 33% of Emirati citizens who have voting rights through an electoral college,while the other twenty are appointed by the rulers of each emirate. According to Reuters,"the process of selecting the people who can either elect or be elected is opaque."

He was arrested in the United Arab Emirates in 2016 as part of investigations into the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal. In 2019,he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for corruption and money laundering.
Al Qubaisi (Al Qubaisiat) (Arabic:القبيسي(القبيسات)) is a sub-tribe of Bani Yas,of Abu Dhabi,closely associated with the Bani Yas of Abu Dhabi. Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi is an Emirati politician and businesswoman currently serving as Minister of State at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She previously served as Minister of Culture and Youth from 2020-2023 for the United Arab Emirates. She has held the position since October 2017. Previously she was the Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs from February 2016 to October 2017. She has also been the chairperson of the twofour54 since 2012 and of Abu Dhabi Media since 2017.
