The World Figure Skating Championships, commonly referred to as "Worlds", is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the categories of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Generally held in March, the World Championships are considered the most prestigious of the ISU Figure Skating Championships. With the exception of the Olympic title, a world title is considered to be the highest competitive achievement in figure skating.
Alexandra Pauline "Sasha" Cohen is a retired American figure skater. She is the 2006 Olympic silver medalist, a three-time World Championship medalist, the 2003 Grand Prix Final Champion, and the 2006 U.S. Champion. She is known for her artistry, flexibility and body lines, and musical interpretation. As of 2022, Cohen is the most recent American woman to medal individually in figure skating at the Olympics.
Tanith Jessica Louise Belbin White is a Canadian American ice dancer and Olympic program host for NBC Sports. Though born in Canada, she holds dual citizenship and has competed for the United States since she began skating with Benjamin Agosto in 1998. With Agosto, Belbin is the 2006 Olympic silver medalist, four-time World medalist, three-time Four Continents champion (2004–2006), and five-time U.S. champion (2004–2008).
Alissa Czisny is an American former competitive figure skater. She is the 2010 Grand Prix Final champion, a two-time Skate Canada champion, the 2011 Skate America champion, and a two-time U.S. national champion. She is also the 2019 and the 2021 U.S. Professional Open Grand Champion.
Viktoria Yevgenyevna Volchkova is a Russian figure skating coach and former competitor. She is a four-time (1999–2002) European bronze medalist, the 2002 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, the 2002 Cup of Russia champion, and a seven-time Russian national medalist. She is also the 1998 JGP Final champion and a two-time (1998–99) World Junior bronze medalist.

Beatrisa "Bebe" Liang is an American retired figure skater. She is the 2006 Four Continents bronze medalist, 2006 Nebelhorn Trophy champion, and 2007 U.S. national pewter medalist.
Júlia Sebestyén is a Hungarian former competitive figure skater. She is the 2004 European Champion and 2002–2010 Hungarian national champion. At the 2004 European Figure Skating Championships, she became the first Hungarian woman to win the European title. She is also a four-time Hungarian Olympic team member, and was Hungary's flag-bearer at the 2010 Olympics.
Kathryn "Katie" Orscher is an American figure skater who competed as a single skater and pair skater. With partner Garrett Lucash, she is the 2005 U.S. national champion and 2005 Four Continents bronze medalist.
Albena Petrova Denkova is a Bulgarian ice dancer. With partner and fiance Maxim Staviski, she is a two-time (2006–2007) World champion, a two-time (2003–2004) European silver medalist, and the 2006 Grand Prix Final champion. Denkova and Staviski are the first Bulgarians to medal at the World Figure Skating Championships.
Rena Inoue is a Japanese-born American retired pair skater. With partner John Baldwin, she is the 2004 and 2006 U.S. National Champion. Inoue previously competed for Japan as both a single skater and pair skater. Inoue and Baldwin are the first skaters to perform a throw triple Axel in competition.
Utako Wakamatsu is a Japanese former competitive figure skater. From 2002 to 2007, she skated with Jean-Sébastien Fecteau as a pair skater for Canada, winning the silver medal at the 2006 Four Continents Championships. Earlier in her career, she competed in single skating for Japan.
Yukari Nakano is a Japanese former competitive figure skater. She is the 2006 Four Continents silver medalist, the 2003 Four Continents bronze medalist, the 2005–06 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, the 2007 Asian Winter Games champion, and a three-time Japanese national bronze medalist. Nakano is one of twelve female skaters to perform a triple Axel in international competition.
Elena Glebova is an Estonian former competitive figure skater. She won five senior international medals and seven Estonian national titles. She finished as high as seventh at the European Championships (2014) and 13th at the World Championships (2012).
Roxana Hartmann, née Luca is a Romanian former competitive figure skater. She is a ten-time Romanian national champion and represented her country at two Olympics. She qualified for the free skate at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, four European Championships, and two World Junior Championships. Her best ISU Championship result was 15th, which she achieved at the 2002 Junior Worlds and 2005 Europeans.
Isabelle Nylander is a Swedish former competitive figure skater. Coached by Marie Olsson, she competed twice at the World Junior Championships, in 2005 and 2006. She is the twin sister of Amanda Nylander, who also competed in figure skating.
Viktoria Helgesson is a retired Swedish figure skater. She is the 2011 Skate America bronze medalist, a five-time Nordic champion, and an eight-time Swedish national champion. She placed fifth at three European Championships. Her bronze medal at 2011 Skate America is the first Grand Prix medal by a Swedish skater.
Amanda Evora is an American former competitive pair skater. She competed with Mark Ladwig. They are two-time U.S. silver medalists, 2012 U.S. bronze medalists and two-time U.S. pewter medalists.
Mark Ladwig is an American former competitive pair skater. He is best known for his partnership with Amanda Evora, with whom he competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics, placing tenth. They won bronze at an ISU Grand Prix event, the 2010 Cup of Russia, and two U.S. national silver medals. He later skated with Lindsay Davis for one season.
Amanda J. Dobbs is an American former competitive figure skater. As a single skater, she placed fourth at the 2010 Four Continents Championships. She also competed in pair skating on the national senior level with Joseph Jacobsen.
