The Ambassador of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States to the European Union is the official representative of the governments of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States to the governments of the European Union.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines maintains close ties to the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and cooperates with regional political and economic organizations such as the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and CARICOM. St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a member of the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Nations, the Organization of American States, and the Association of Caribbean States (ACS). Saint Vincent is also the smallest nation ever to be on the United Nations Security Council.
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is the central bank for the Eastern Caribbean dollar and is the monetary authority for the members of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), with the exception of the British Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe and Martinique. It was established in 1983, succeeding the British Caribbean Currency Board (1950-1965) and the Eastern Caribbean Currency Authority (1965-1983).

Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago formally established diplomatic relations on Barbados' national date of independence, 30 November 1966. Len Ishmael is a St. Lucian development planner and geographer who was the Director General of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States from 12 May 2003 until the end of December 2013. She was appointed Ambassador of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States to the European Union in 2013, succeeding Shirley Skerrit-Andrew.

Shirley Skerrit-Andrew is an economist and diplomat from St Kitts, who was appointed Ambassador of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States to the European Union on 30 October 2008. At her appointment she became the federation's first non-resident woman ambassador. She held the appointment until 2013, when she was succeeded by Len Ishmael.

Sometimes referred to as "French Dominique", Dominica also shares close ties with its nearest neighbours, the overseas departments of the French Republic, Guadeloupe to the north and Martinique to the south. At present, Dominica is connected to the French islands by an inter-island express ferry. Under the auspice of the European Union both Dominica and France are tied economically via a 2008 concluded multilateral Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) trade-deal representing many Caribbean nations under the name CARIFORUM. They are further members of: The Association of Caribbean States (ACS), the Caribbean Postal Union, the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the United Nations.
