The Singles 1986–1995 is a box set by English new wave band Duran Duran. Comprising 14 CDs, it was released on 13 September 2004 by EMI and features the singles covering the era from Notorious (1986) to Thank You (1995).
The 10 Year Limited Edition Anniversary Box Set is a box set by the band Blur released in limited quantities on 17 August 1999. It contains 22 CDs with 126 tracks featuring all official UK singles from their debut album, Leisure, to their 1999 album, 13, and the b-sides, with the exception of three of the b-sides featured on the single No Distance Left to Run. Fanclub singles, promotional singles, and singles released in other countries are not included.
Brighter Than a Thousand Suns is the sixth studio album by English post-punk band Killing Joke, released in November 1986 by E.G. Records. It was their first album to be distributed through Virgin Records. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number 54 on 22 November 1986, staying for one week. It was produced by Chris Kimsey, who had produced the band's 1985 album, Night Time.
"Tarantula" is a song by British group Faithless. It was released in December 2001 as the third single from their third studio album Outrospective. The song reached number 29 in UK Singles Chart.
"You Don't Know" is the first single from the 1997 album Sisters of Avalon by American singer Cyndi Lauper. Considered a comeback by the singer after the song's performance on the dance charts and in several countries, it is about the wishy-washiness of politicians. Lauper refers to the arrogance of the media in this song, as well as in other songs on the Sisters of Avalon album. It contains the word "bullshit" and was not edited out of the UK singles as is typical. While performing on several UK shows, such as Noel's House Party, she skipped the word. Remixes of the song were made by several producers such as Tony Moran and Junior Vasquez. That led the song to become a big dance hit in the United States and a mainstream hit in the UK.
"Keep On Jumpin'" is a song written by musician Patrick Adams and Ken Morris. This track has been remade, remixed, and sampled numerous times, but only the 1978 original by Adams's group Musique and Todd Terry's 1996 updated version with Martha Wash & Jocelyn Brown reached number one on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play charts. "On and On" was released in the UK in May, 2010. The song was re-released in the Netherlands on May 24, 2010 as the UK edit.
"A New Day" is a single by English post-punk band Killing Joke. It was released by E.G. Records in July 1984 as a 7-inch and 12-inch single. The B-side to the 7" release was a remix of the song, named "Dance Day". The single reached No. 51 in the UK Singles Chart. A promotional video was filmed for the song, the first time the band made a video for a non-album single.
"Love Like Blood" is a song by English rock band Killing Joke. It was released in January 1985 as the second single from their fifth studio album, Night Time (1985). Produced by Chris Kimsey, the song is characterised as gothic rock and new wave. It was a top 10 hit in the Netherlands, Belgium and New Zealand and peaked at number 16 in the United Kingdom.
"Kings and Queens" is Killing Joke's third single from their fifth studio album, Night Time. It was originally released by E.G. Records on 21 March 1985 as a 7" and 12" single in the UK, and a 7" single by Polydor in the Netherlands. It was produced by Chris Kimsey. Although "Kings and Queens" was overshadowed by the success of Killing Joke's previous single, "Love Like Blood", it did reach number 58 in the UK Singles Chart.
"Adorations" is Killing Joke's first single from their sixth studio album, Brighter than a Thousand Suns, released in August 1986. All of the releases were mixed by Julian Mendelsohn and Zeus B. Held, and produced by Chris Kimsey and Stewart Levine.
"Sanity" is Killing Joke's second single from their sixth studio album, Brighter Than a Thousand Suns. It was released on 30 October 1986. The single peaked at No. 70 in the UK Singles chart. All of the releases were mixed by Julian Mendelsohn and Zeus B. Held, and produced by Chris Kimsey.
"My Love of This Land" is Killing Joke's second single from their seventh studio album, Outside the Gate. It was released by E.G. Records on 3 July 1988.
"Exorcism" is Killing Joke's first single from their ninth studio album, Pandemonium. It was released on 11 March 1994 by Butterfly Records.
"Pyromania" is a song performed by German Eurodance group Cascada, released as the first single from their fourth studio album, Original Me. It was written by Yann Peifer, Allan Eshuijs, and Manuel Reuter, and it was produced by Reuter and Peifer. The song was premiered on February 12, 2010, and was first released on March 19, 2010 by Zooland Records. "Pyromania" features Natalie Horler singing the whole song with guest male vocals speaking the "pyro-pyro" hook. Lyrically, the song is a play on words. It talks about a love and obsession with fire.
"Wherever Would I Be" is a song by American rock band Cheap Trick, which was released in 1990 as the second single from their eleventh studio album Busted. It was written by American songwriter Diane Warren and produced by Richie Zito. "Wherever Would I Be" peaked at No. 50 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
"Pretty Boys And Pretty Girls" is the fifth single released by the American synth-pop band Book of Love. The song was the first single released prior to the band's second album Lullaby in 1988.
"For Once in My Life" is a song by British singer Mel B. The song was written by Brown, Tim Daniel McEwan, Lars Halvor Jensen, Gita Lake and Negin Djafari, and produced by Danish production team DEEKAY. It was released on 19 September 2013 on iTunes by SBB Records. It marked Brown's first release in eight years following 2005's "Today". The single was first announced by Brown on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Despite the lack of promo outside Twitter, the single peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart.
"Dame Tu Cosita" is a song by Panamanian artist El Chombo, featuring Jamaican dancehall musician Cutty Ranks. It was originally recorded in 1997, but extended and released as a single in 2018. A remix with Pitbull and Karol G was released on August 29, 2018.
