Amlan Das is an Odia actor mostly viewed in Ollywood films and advertisements. He is the son of Famous Odia actor Mihir Das. He started his career just after completing his graduation in 2013. [1] [2]

Biography

Amlan was born as the elder son of Mihir Das and Sangita Das at Cuttack. He completed his schooling and college at DAV school, CDA. Cuttack joined for his graduation in the Sivaji Ganesan Film Institute of SRM Institute of Science and Technology located in Chennai. In 2013 he completed his graduation and started his film career in the movie Target with direction from SK Muralidharan. But his first performance failed to attract a wider audience. He grew in popularity after appearing in Tu Mo Dehara Chhai but later on he failed to impress the Odia viewers with his performance. He failed to increase his popularity and audience attention due to continuous flop movies. [3] [4] [5]

Tu Kahibu Na Mu is an Indian Odia-language romantic drama film directed by Susant Mani and produced by Tarang Cine Productions. It stars Niharika Dash and Amlan Das in lead roles while Aparajita Mohanty and Mihir Das play supporting roles. The music is released by Amara Muzik.

Chini is a 2016 Indian Odia and Sambalpuri language drama film directed by Pradeep Bhol and produced by Bhabani Majhi & Snehalata Parida. The film is made under the banner of Navajiban Films. It stars Amlan Das and Patrali in lead roles while Mahasweta Ray and Mihir Das play supporting roles. Well known playback singer Asha Bhosle sang a Sambalpuri number in the upcoming Odia film "Chini" with a western Odisha flavour. Asha has sung "Uanshar andhare nai dishe sina, haji nai jai jan", in Odia language "uaansha ratire dise nahin sina haji jae nahin jaha", penned by Durga Madhab Panda and singer Tapu Mishra for the film. This film won the state film award for best film in 2016.

Kanhu Charan Mohanty was an Indian Odia language novelist who wrote fifty-six novels in a career spanning over six decades from 1930 to 1985. He is considered "one of the most popular and celebrated novelists of Odisa". Mohanty was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1958 for his novel, Kaa, published in 1956, and was one of the fellows of the Sahitya Akademi. Mohanty died on 6 April 1994 at the age of 87.

Mohammad Mohsin called popularly as Mohsin was an Indian actor, director and producer. In his movie career spanning more than 30 years across Bollywood, Odisha and West Bengal, he has acted and directed in many commercially successful movies. Mohsin started a revolution in commercial Odia movies and connected with the pulse of his audience. His movies ranged from social drama to action packed crime thrillers. Mohsin made his first Bollywood debut in the movie Naiyya, in which he played the character of Karim. Naiyya was produced and distributed by Rajshri Productions, which was a remake of Odia movie Shesha Shrabana, in which Mohsin played the character of a boat maker.

Before his debut as an actor in films, he had already written 60 plays. He also wrote lyrics in many Sambalpuri songs.
