Amoretti, Welty, Helmer & Co Bank is a historic building located in the town of Dubois, Fremont County, Wyoming. Built-in 1911-13, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [1]

History

Frank A. Welty Sr. and others built the one-story bank in 1911-13. The structure of the building features a flat roof and a short parapet and it is built with locally sourced red sandstone. The bank's construction began in 1911, and it opened for business in 1913. As the town of Dubois's first bank, it acted as a hub for financial activities and investment. [2] The bank was operated by the town's founder Frank A. Welty and bankers, Ernest B. Helmer and Eugene Amoretti Jr. [2]

The Great Mosque of Djenné is a large brick or adobe building in the Sudano-Sahelian architectural style. The mosque is located in the city of Djenné, Mali, on the flood plain of the Bani River. The first mosque on the site was built around the 13th century, but the current structure dates from 1907. As well as being the centre of the community of Djenné, it is one of the most famous landmarks in Africa. Along with the "Old Towns of Djenné" it was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988.

Jackson Lake Lodge United States historic place

Jackson Lake Lodge is located near Moran in Grand Teton National Park, in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The lodge has 385 rooms, a restaurant, conference rooms, and offers numerous recreational opportunities. The lodge is owned by the National Park Service, and operated under contract by the Grand Teton Lodge Company. The Grand Teton Lodge Company also manages the Jenny Lake Lodge, as well as cabins, restaurants and other services at Colter Bay Village. The lodge is located east of Jackson Lake adjacent to prime moose habitat below the Jackson Lake Dam.

The Wyoming State Hospital, once known as the Wyoming State Insane Asylum, is located in Evanston, Wyoming, United States. The historic district occupies the oldest portion of the grounds and includes fifteen contributing buildings, including the main administrative building, staff and patient dormitories, staff apartments and houses, a cafeteria and other buildings, many of which were designed by Cheyenne, Wyoming architect William Dubois. Established in 1887, the historic buildings span the period 1907-1948. At one point it was common for new hall additions to be named after the counties in Wyoming. The recent addition of Aspen, Cottonwood, and Evergreen halls do not follow this trend.

The First National Bank of Meeteetse, also known as the Bank Museum and the Old Bank Building, was built in Meeteetse, Wyoming in 1901 for Hogg, Cheesman, McDonald and Company Bankers. The following year it was renamed to the more concise First National Bank of Meeteetse. The bank occupied the first floor while the second floor was initially the town council's meeting place.

The HF Bar Ranch is located in Johnson County, Wyoming about 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Buffalo, Wyoming in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains near Saddlestring, Wyoming. The ranch is a working cattle ranch comprising about 36 buildings, built between 1898 and 1921. The ranch is associated with Wyoming state senator and U.S. Congressman Frank O. Horton, who purchased it in 1911 with financial help from his investment banker brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Warren and Demia Gorrell. The Gorrells and their children spent summers in Wyoming, while the Hortons stayed year-round.

The historical buildings and structures of Grand Teton National Park include a variety of buildings and built remains that pre-date the establishment of Grand Teton National Park, together with facilities built by the National Park Service to serve park visitors. Many of these places and structures have been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The pre-Park Service structures include homestead cabins from the earliest settlement of Jackson Hole, working ranches that once covered the valley floor, and dude ranches or guest ranches that catered to the tourist trade that grew up in the 1920s and 1930s, before the park was expanded to encompass nearly all of Jackson Hole. Many of these were incorporated into the park to serve as Park Service personnel housing, or were razed to restore the landscape to a natural appearance. Others continued to function as inholdings under a life estate in which their former owners could continue to use and occupy the property until their death. Other buildings, built in the mountains after the initial establishment of the park in 1929, or in the valley after the park was expanded in 1950, were built by the Park Service to serve park visitors, frequently employing the National Park Service Rustic style of design.

Churchill Public School (Cheyenne, Wyoming) United States historic place

The Churchill Public School, also known as Churchill Elementary School, is a historic school located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Built in 1911, it is the oldest surviving public school in Cheyenne. The school is named for James Otis Churchill, Cheyenne's Superintendent of Schools for nearly two decades. Prominent Cheyenne architect William Dubois gave the school a Prairie design with an American Foursquare plan; the school was the first of several designed by Dubois in Cheyenne. The two-story brick building features a stepped parapet along its flat roof.

Leon C. Goodrich was an American architect of Casper, Wyoming. A number of his works are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Lowell Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Lowell, Lake County, Indiana. The district encompasses 28 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 1 contributing object in the central business district of Lowell. It developed between about 1870 and 1952, and includes notable example of Italianate, Queen Anne, Romanesque Revival, Bungalow / American Craftsman, and Art Deco style architecture. Notable buildings include the Roberts Building (1948), Colfax Lodge (1898), Bacon House, Lowell National Bank (1903), Lowell Town Hall (1922), and Lowell Carnegie Library (1920).

First National Bank of Rock River United States historic place

The First National Bank of Rock River was built in 1919 in the small community of Rock River, Wyoming, at the peak of a local oil boom. The First National Bank operated from February 1920 to June 14, 1923, when it went into receivership as the oil boom collapsed and its vice president was convicted of embezzlement. In 1927 the building was sold to the new Citizen's State Bank, but was claimed by Albany County for back taxes in 1931. In 1936 the county sold the building to the town. It became a civic center for the town, operating a post office until the 1950s. A doctor's office had occupied the rear in the 1920s, and in the 1940s apartments were built, which later became the town's jail. With the departure of the post office the building became a fire station. From 1935 to 1985 the Council Room was used by civic organizations. From 1940 to 1985 another room was the town library.

Lincoln School (Laramie, Wyoming) United States historic place

The Lincoln School in Laramie, Wyoming was built in 1924 and expanded in 1939 and 1958. Originally called the West Side School, served the less prosperous, largely Hispanic neighborhoods on the west side of Laramie. It was closed in 1978 and became the Lincoln Community Center. It was renovated and expanded in 2012.

Hotel Higgins United States historic place

The Hotel Higgins, Tabor Hotel or Higgins Hotel was built in 1916-1917 during the oil boom in Glenrock, Wyoming. It was built for John E. Higgins, who was a local rancher, legislator and oil business investor, and his wife Josephine Amoretti Higgins. It was designed by architect Edward Reavill, and it opened on May 9, 1917. After the accidental death of Josephine in 1924 and the death of John in 1926 the property was disputed by their heirs. This was resolved in 1942 when the hotel was sold to Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Tabor at a tax sale, and the hotel became the Tabor Hotel. After several new owners the hotel became the Hotel Higgins again in 1978.

The Brooks Lake Lodge, also known as the Brooks Lake Hotel and Diamond G Ranch, as well as the Two-Gwo-Tee Inn, is a recreational retreat in Fremont County, Wyoming near Dubois in the upper Wind River valley. The complex was built in 1922 to accommodate travelers coming to Yellowstone National Park on U.S. Route 287 from central Wyoming. The buildings are mainly of log construction with Craftsman style detailing.

Charles L. Beatty House United States historic place

The Charles L. Beatty House, also known as the Kendrick Building, on Capitol Avenue in Cheyenne, Wyoming, was built in 1916. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
