She began her career as a child actress, starring in various television shows. She rose to prominence in 2002 playing a shy school girl called Nina Tucker in the Australian soap opera Neighbours.

Background

Unlike former tours, this was an album launch/half tour, and the shows were performed in the first two weeks after Child of the Universe was released. Fans could also purchase the album at the venue then go to a Q&A session after the show. Goodrem brought her finalist from The Voice Australia , Rachael Leahcar, as her support act to open the shows. Rachael Wendy Bartholomew, known by her stage name Rachael Leahcar, is an Australian singer and songwriter, born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. She participated on the first season of The Voice Australia, coming in third place. Shortly after, she signed a record deal with Universal Music Australia. Her debut album Shooting Star, which contained songs she performed on The Voice, as well as newly recorded covers, was released on 13 July 2012. The album debuted at number five on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Sydney show cancellation

The second Sydney show was canceled halfway through after Goodrem spilled boiling hot water over her legs prior to the show. After being treated at hospital, she came out 45 minutes late with bandages over legs. After performing a few songs and running off the stage because of the intense pain a few times, Goodrem had to cancel the show and offered fans 50% money back.
