Anaji is a town in the Western region of Ghana. [1] It is 10 kilometres from the centre of Takoradi, the Western regional capital. [2]

The town is bordered on the north by Namibia (a suburb of Takoradi), to the West by Kansaworodo, to the east by Nkroful and to the South by Effiakuma. [3]

On the outskirts of the town is the Effiakuma Zongo.

Kojokrom is a town in the Western region of Ghana. It is 12 kilometres from the centre Takoradi. It is about 2.7 kilometers from Sekondi, the Western regional capital. The town is used mainly as a dormitory town for various workers who work in the regional capital and its environs though quite a sizable number of residents also are engaged in the wood industry. Such residents either engage in trading of bulk planks of various woods or are carpenters.

Effia is a village in the Western region of Ghana. It is about 10 kilometres from Takoradi, the regional capital.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan District in 1988, which was created from the former Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Authority Council, until the eastern part of the district was split off to create Shama District on 29 February 2008; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan District. However on 15 March 2018, the western part of the district was split off to become Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal District; thus, the remaining part has been retained as Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan District. The metropolis is located in the southeast part of Western Region and has Sekondi-Takoradi as its capital town.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2022 Bogoso explosion</span> Deadly accident in Western Region, Ghana

On 20 January 2022, a large explosion occurred along the Tarkwa-Bogoso-Ayamfuri road in Western Region, Ghana, after a truck transporting mining explosives collided with a motorcycle. The explosion levelled the nearby Apiate village, killing 13 people and injuring 200.

The Western Railway Line is a narrow gauge single track railway line from Takoradi Port to Kumasi, with branch lines at Kojokrom, which leads to Sekondi and another at Dunkwa, which leads to Awaso.
