Anand family is an Indian show business family active in Hindi cinema (Bollywood). It originates from the Anand brother: Vijay Anand, Dev Anand and Chetan Anand. Their father's name was Pishorimal Anand. The Anand brothers had five sisters: Savitri, Sheila, Kanta, Lata and Usha. [1]
In a film industry dominated by familial connections the Anand brothers served as an important bridge between various Bollywood film clans. Elder brother Chetan Anand who marked the family's entry into the Indian film industry. He directed the film Neecha Nagar which won the Palme d'Or award at Cannes in 1946. It was the first Indian film to gain international recognition. Then followed Dev and Vijay Anand. Dev co-founded Navketan Films with Chetan in 1949. [2]

Dev Anand was an Indian actor, writer, director and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. Anand is considered as one of the greatest and most successful actors in the history of Indian cinema. He was the most famous among all his brothers. Dev Anand marry with Kalpana Kartik in 1954. Both of them got married in a very private manner during the shooting of the film Taxi Driver. They have 2 children named Suneil Anand and Devina Anand. [3]

Ashok Kumar, was an Indian actor who attained iconic status in Indian cinema. He was considered the first big superstar of Hindi cinema as well as the first lead actor to play an anti-hero. He also became the first star to reinvent himself, enjoying a long and hugely successful career as a character actor. He was a member of the cinematic Ganguly family. He was honoured in 1988 with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest national award for cinema artists, by the Government of India. He also received the Padma Bhushan in 1999 for his contributions to Indian cinema.

Baazi was the first crime noir made in the country. It initiated a new genre called "Bombay Noir", the success of which encouraged and defined the later noir films of 1950s and '60s in Hindi cinema. It was the first film in which Dev Anand came up with his unique style of rapid-fire. The film's story was partly inspired by the 1946 movie Gilda.

Navketan Films is a film production house based in Mumbai, India. Started in 1949 by actor-director and producer Dev Anand and his elder brother Chetan Anand, whose debut film, Neecha Nagar, received the Palme d'Or award, at the first ever Cannes Film Festival in 1946. Younger brother Vijay Anand, also directed numerous films for the company, like Guide (1965), Jewel Thief (1967) and Johny Mera Naam (1970). Chetan and Vijay parted ways with company later and today Dev's son Suneil Anand is currently heading the production house. The last film released by Navketan films was Chargesheet in 2011. Navketan’s latest venture is a Hollywood film titled Vagator Mixer (2023) which is being directed by Suneil Anand. It stars Suneil in the lead with a host of Hollywood actors.
House No. 44 is a 1955 Hindi film directed by M. K. Burman and produced by Dev Anand for his banner Navketan Films. The movie stars Dev Anand and Kalpana Kartik in a lead role. The film is also noted for its popular songs with music by S. D. Burman, with lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi, including "Teri Duniya Mein Jeene Se" and "Chup Hai Dharti Chup Hain Chand Sitaare", sung by Hemant Kumar.

Jal Mistry (1923–2000) was a noted Indian cinematographer who worked in Hindi cinema, best known for his collaboration with director Chetan Anand and Navketan Films, in films like Aakhri Khat (1966), Heer Raanjha (1970) and Kudrat (1981). Besides, hit films like Barsaat (1949) directed by Raj Kapoor and Naseeb (1981) by Manmohan Desai. He even co-produced Dev Anand starrer, Bombai Ka Babu (1960) with Raj Khosla.
