Andrea Parker is a British electronic music producer, record label proprietor and DJ from Pembury, Kent, England. [1]
Despite having a background in cello playing, Parker was influenced by electronic pioneers such as Art Of Noise and Jean Michel Jarre. [1] [2] She formed the group Inky Blacknuss with producers Alex Knight and Ian Tregoning in 1993 for Andrew Weatherall's Sabrettes label, [3] [4] before signing to hip hop label Mo' Wax for her solo output, releasing her debut album Kiss My Arp (a reference to the vintage ARP synthesisers) in 1999. [1] Kiss My Arp peaked at #73 on the CMJ Radio 200 and #2 on the CMJ RPM Charts in the U.S. [5] Electronic music producer David Morley was an important part of her musical output as co-writer and almost all her studio work took place in his studio, which was then in Germany.
In 2002, Parker formed the Touchin' Bass imprint after splitting from Mo' Wax, citing problems with the label's management merger, and the subsequent hold up in releasing any of her further projects. [2] With her long-time production partner David Morley, her output became rooted in a darker, less organic sound than her work with Mo' Wax. Her output referenced classic electro music from the 1980s, relying heavily on the use of drum machines such as the Roland TR-808, as well as electro's ghettotech connection by collaborating with DJ Assault and DJ Godfather on her Freaky Bitches 12".
A retrospective called Here's One I Made Earlier… (a reference to the British television show Blue Peter ) was released in 2007.
Electronic body music (EBM) is a genre of electronic music that combines elements of industrial music and synth-punk with elements of dance music. It developed in the early 1980s in Western Europe, as an outgrowth of both the punk and the industrial music cultures. It combines sequenced repetitive basslines, programmed dance music rhythms, and mostly undistorted vocals and command-like shouts with confrontational or provocative themes.

Endtroducing..... is the debut studio album by American music producer DJ Shadow, released on September 16, 1996, by Mo' Wax. It is an instrumental hip hop work composed almost entirely of samples from vinyl records. DJ Shadow produced Endtroducing over two years, using an Akai MPC60 sampler and little other equipment. He edited and layered samples to create new tracks of varying moods and tempos.
Preemptive Strike is the first compilation album by American hip hop producer DJ Shadow, released by Mo' Wax on January 27, 1998. It contains DJ Shadow's singles released by Mo' Wax between 1993 and 1997. It peaked at number 118 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Renegade Soundwave were an electronic music group. Formed in London in 1986, the group originally consisted of Gary Asquith, Carl Bonnie and Danny Briottet. Their debut LP Soundclash was released in 1990 on Mute Records. It featured the UK top 40 hit "Probably a Robbery" and dancefloor favourite "Biting My Nails".

In 2015, she was named as one of "20 women who shaped the history of dance music" by Mixmag. She is transgender and came out in 1998.

PIAS Recordings is a Belgian record label founded in 1983 by Kenny Gates and Michel Lambot. Play It Again Sam expanded along with other European independent labels in the early 1980s. Play It Again Sam's prominent early artists were electronic-rock acts like Front 242, Meat Beat Manifesto and The Young Gods. They later added artists such as The Sound, Soulwax/2ManyDJ's, Sigur Rós and Mogwai.
Rave 92 is a DJ mixed compilation album compiled by Mark Arthurworrey and released on Cookie Jar Records, containing popular rave singles that had become popular in the United Kingdom in 1992. The compilation, the fifth and final rave compilation compiled by Arthurworrey and released on the label, aims to collect some of the year's biggest rave hits, although, as has been pointed out, Rave 92 also intends to "bridge across the gap between chart rave and the more obscure hardcore tracks." Released in November 1992, Rave 92 was well-received and a commercial success, reaching number 3 on the UK Compilation Chart. Several latter-day electronic producers, including Phaeleh, have cited hearing Rave 92 for the first time as the point they became interested in electronic music.
Mr Brubakers Strawberry Alarm Clock is the second studio album by British electronic artist Riz Maslen under her pseudonym Neotropic, released in 1998 on Ntone. Maslen produced the album herself, and conceived it in part to musically vent some of her emotions and frustrations after several personal issues in her life. While the album has some similarities with her debut album, 15 Levels of Magnificence (1996), Mr Brubakers is more abstract, textured and eclectic, featuring specific elements from IDM and trip hop among other genres to create a unique sound. Several guest performers also appear on the record, including vocalists Paul Jason Fredericks and Nina Barry and guitarist Gary Lucas.
