Andris Teikmanis (29 November 1959; Riga, Latvia) is a Latvian lawyer, politician, and diplomat. He served as first post-soviet Mayor of Riga from 1990 to 1994. [1] [2] In September 2016 he was accredited as the Latvian ambassador to the United States. [3] He previously served as Under Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riga, and as Latvian ambassador to the Council of Europe, to the Russian Federation, to Germany, and to the United Kingdom, and as non-resident ambassador to Australia and New Zealand. Since August 2019 A. Teikmanis is head of the Chancellery of the President of Latvia Egils Levits.

Anatols Dinbergs

Anatols Dinbergs was one of the preeminent career diplomats of Latvia. He entered service in Latvia's Foreign Ministry in 1932. Dinbergs remained abroad when the Soviet Union occupied Latvia, serving in the Latvian Legation in Washington, D.C., after World War II ended. Dinbergs assumed the highest diplomatic post, that of chargé d'affaires, in 1970 and represented Latvia's sovereign interests in exile until Latvia reestablished its independence in 1991. As head of the Latvian diplomatic service abroad, Dinbergs was appointed Latvia's first ambassador to the United Nations and subsequently Latvia's first ambassador to the United States. After retirement, he served as Counselor to the Latvian Embassy in Washington, D.C., until his death in 1993.

Latvia–Uzbekistan relations Diplomatic relations between Latvia and Uzbekistan

Latvia–Uzbekistan relations are bilateral relations between Latvia and Uzbekistan. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 3 November 1992. Both countries were Soviet socialist republic of the USSR from 1940 until 1991. Latvia has an embassy in Tashkent which is also accredited to Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, and in which Estonia issues visas to Uzbeks, and Uzbekistan has an embassy in Riga which is also accredited to Lithuania. Eduards Stiprais is a Latvian diplomat who served as Permanent Representative of Latvia to the European Union from 2004 until 2007. Between 2004 and 2009 he served as Head of EU Delegation to the Republic of Uzbekistan. He also served as Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to the United Kingdom and since 2020 he serves as Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to France.

Andris Pelšs is a Latvian diplomat who served as Permanent Representative of Latvia to the European Union from 2012 to 2016, since 2018 he serves as State Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
