Andy Haines (born April 2,1977) is an American professional baseball coach and manager. He has served on the coaching staffs of the Chicago Cubs,Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball.
Haines attended Eastern Illinois University,and played college baseball for the Eastern Illinois Panthers as a catcher. [1] After graduating from Eastern Illinois,he served as an assistant for the baseball team at Olney Central College. He joined the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) baseball team as a graduate assistant in 2002. He spent three years at Middle Tennessee,earning a master's degree. [2]
Haines spent two years as the manager of the summer-collegiate Waterloo Bucks in 2003 and 2004,and served as a hitting coach with the independent-league Gary SouthShore RailCats of the Northern League in 2005 and 2006. He debuted as a manager for the Windy City ThunderBolts of the independent Frontier League in 2007. He became a hitting coach in the Miami Marlins' organization in 2008,working for the Gulf Coast Marlins of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League. The next year,he managed the Jamestown Jammers of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League. Haines managed the Greensboro Grasshoppers of the Class A South Atlantic League in 2010 and 2011,leading the team to the league's championship in 2011. The next two seasons,he managed the Jupiter Hammerheads of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League. He managed the New Orleans Zephyrs of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League in 2014 and 2015. [3] In 2016,the Cubs hired Haines as their minor league hitting instructor. [4] After the 2017 season,the Cubs promoted him to their major league staff as their assistant hitting coach. [5]
Haines left the Cubs to become hitting coach for the Milwaukee Brewers in November 2018. [6] The Brewers fired Haines after the 2021 season, [7] and he was hired as the hitting coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates. [8] [9]
Haines is from Louisville,Illinois. [10] He met his wife,Erin,while at MTSU. They have three children. [2] His younger brother,Kyle, [10] is the director of player development for the San Francisco Giants. [11] [12]
Aramis Nin Ramírez is a Dominican former professional baseball third baseman,who played 18 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Pittsburgh Pirates,Chicago Cubs,and Milwaukee Brewers. He was named an All-Star three times during his career.
David Michael Bell is an American former professional baseball third baseman and second baseman,former Coach,and current manager for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). Over the course of his 12-year MLB playing career,Bell appeared at all four infield positions while playing for the Cleveland Indians,St. Louis Cardinals,Seattle Mariners,San Francisco Giants,Philadelphia Phillies,and Milwaukee Brewers,but played primarily at third and second. Bell made his MLB debut for the Indians in 1995.
Dale Curtis Sveum is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) player and manager. He most recently served as the bench coach for the Kansas City Royals. As a player,Sveum saw action in 12 major league seasons between 1986 and 1999. He was a member of the Milwaukee Brewers,Philadelphia Phillies,Chicago White Sox,Oakland Athletics,Seattle Mariners,Pittsburgh Pirates,and New York Yankees. Following his playing career,Sveum managed in minor league baseball for several seasons before becoming an MLB coach. Sveum briefly served as manager of the Brewers in 2008 during his tenure as hitting coach for the team. He was later named manager of the Cubs after the 2011 season and served for two seasons. His cousin is former Blue Jays All-Star John Olerud.
Charles John Grimm,nicknamed "Jolly Cholly",was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a first baseman,most notably for the Chicago Cubs;he was also a sometime radio sports commentator,and a popular goodwill ambassador for baseball. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates early in his career,but was traded to the Cubs in 1925 and worked mostly for the Cubs for the rest of his career. Born in St. Louis,Missouri,to parents of German extraction,Grimm was known for being outgoing and chatty,even singing old-fashioned songs while accompanying himself on a left-handed banjo. Grimm is one of a select few to have played and managed in 2,000 games each.
Thomas Lynn Trebelhorn is an American former manager in Major League Baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers (1986–91) and Chicago Cubs (1994). He was the manager of the Class A Salem-Keizer Volcanoes from 2008 to 2012.

A native of Birmingham,Alabama,Grammas played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals,Cincinnati Redlegs and Chicago Cubs. He threw and batted right-handed,and was listed as 6 feet (1.83 m) tall and 175 pounds (79 kg). Grammas's family origins are from Agios Dimitrios,Greece.

He played for the San Diego Padres of the National League and the Chicago White Sox,Seattle Mariners and Cleveland Indians of the American League. He primarily played as a second baseman.

William Derrick Bates is an American former professional baseball second baseman and pinch runner who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cincinnati Reds. In 29 career games,Bates had a batting average of .125 with six hits,two runs batted in (RBI),11 runs,and eight stolen bases. Though his defensive position was at second base,the Reds primarily used Bates as a pinch runner. After he scored the winning run in Game 2 of the 1990 World Series,Bates never played in MLB again.
Eugene Anthony Clines was an American professional baseball player and coach. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as an outfielder from 1970 to 1979,most prominently as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates teams that won four National League Eastern Division titles in five seasons between 1970 and 1974,and won the World Series in 1971. He also played for the New York Mets,Texas Rangers,and Chicago Cubs. He batted and threw right-handed.
Timothy John Foli is an American former professional baseball player,coach and minor league manager. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a shortstop for the New York Mets,Montreal Expos,San Francisco Giants,Pittsburgh Pirates,California Angels and New York Yankees from 1970 to 1985. At age 17,Foli was the first pick in the Major League Baseball Draft in 1968 and went on to be a member of the 1979 World Series champion Pirates. Foli was known as a fiery player who was a reliable fielder but only an average hitter. Foli was a free swinger,especially in 1982 when he walked only 14 times,the lowest total ever for 150 or more games played. His free swinging did not aim for the fences,however,as he averaged less than two home runs per season.

Richard Avina Renteria is a Mexican-American former professional baseball infielder and former manager of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Renteria played in parts of five seasons between 1986 and 1994 with the Pittsburgh Pirates,Seattle Mariners,and Florida Marlins. He then coached and managed in the Marlins organization until 2001,and in the San Diego Padres organization until 2013. He was the manager of the Chicago Cubs in 2014. Renteria was also the bench coach for the Chicago White Sox in 2016.
