Angel is the first album by the rock band Angel. "Tower", the keyboard-heavy opening track, [3] was used widely during the late 1970s and early 1980s by album rock radio stations in the US for various advertising purposes. The track is also on K-SHE radio's Classic List. [4] This album can be seen[ by whom? ] as representing the band's early progressive roots, with Helluva Band seeing the group starting to move towards an increasingly hard rock-oriented sound. Tracks 6-8 segue to form a 10-minute mini suite.

On Earth as It Is in Heaven is the third album by the rock band Angel. It is the last album with Mickie Jones who had been the band's bass guitar player since its formation. It was produced by Eddie Kramer and recorded in an actual castle in the Hollywood Hills. "Cast the First Stone" and "Just A Dream" are very similar in sound to the songs on Angel and Helluva Band. In fact, "Cast The First Stone" was written during the Helluva Band sessions. The band toured non-stop and it was during this time they made their only tour of Japan. The album peaked at #76 on the US Billboard charts.

Live Without a Net is the first live album and the sixth in total by the rock band Angel. It was the band's last album before breaking up in 1981. The band had hoped that the album would bring them commercial success, like the album Alive! did for Kiss, but it did not, leading to Angel's break up a year later. The first CD issues cut out the audience in order to fit the entire album onto one CD. All reissues since the 2000s have been released on two discs and contain the album's full content.

Punky Meadows is an American guitarist best known for his glam rock image and as a member of the band Angel between 1975 and 1980.

BUX was an American hard rock/boogie rock band that is best known for having lead guitarist Punky Meadows and bassist Mickie Jones both of whom joined Angel, and lead singer Ralph Morman who was with the Joe Perry Project from 1979–1980 and Savoy Brown from 1980–1982.

We Come to Play was the first and only album released by BUX in 1976. The album was originally recorded in 1973 but Capitol decided not to release it. In 1976, however, when lead guitarist Punky Meadows and bassist Mickie Jones had success with their band Angel, Capitol tried to cash in and finally released We Come to Play. The album is an interesting affair blending hard rock and the standard boogie band approach with varied results. "White Lightning", which later became a featured cut on Angel's third album, is included here with different lyrics and is interesting for its historical value.

The Cherry People were a psychedelic pop and later hard rock music group from Washington, D.C., United States. Their track "And Suddenly" reached no.45 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts in 1969.

<i>The Mission</i> (Styx album) 2017 studio album by Styx

The Mission is the sixteenth studio album by American rock band Styx, released on June 16, 2017, through UMe. It is the band's first studio album since 2005's Big Bang Theory and their first release of original material since 2003's Cyclorama. The album reached #45 on the Billboard 200, propelled by pre-sales prior to its official release date, but fell off the chart after 2 weeks. In an era with limited album sales, total U.S. Sales were approximately 15,000 copies, a far cry from the band's triple platinum past. Yet, the album did briefly reach the Top 100 in four other countries. The concept album tells the story of a mission to the planet Mars in the year 2033. The album's story was written by Tommy Shaw and Will Evankovich. Evankovich played a significant role, serving as producer and co-writing all but one of the full length tracks.
