The Angels Flight Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race held annually at Santa Anita Park in Inglewood, California. A Grade III event open to three-year-old fillies, it is contested on dirt over a distance of a six and one-half furlongs.
Inaugurated in 1963 as the Railbird Handicap at Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood, California, it was a race for three-year-old horses of either sex until 1964 when it was changed to a race for fillies only. The event was originally named for railbirds, honoring those fans and/or handicappers who line the racetrack rail to be close to the race.
In 1965 the race was run in two divisions.

Known as the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic between 2008 and 2012, it is held annually at a different racetrack in the United States or Canada as part of the Breeders' Cup World Championships. It is the top ranked race for fillies and mares in North America, and often decides the title for champion three-year-old and / or champion older filly or mare.

Hollywood Park, later sold and referred to as Betfair Hollywood Park, was a thoroughbred race course located in Inglewood, California, about 3 miles (5 km) from Los Angeles International Airport and adjacent to the Forum indoor arena. In 1994, Hollywood Park Casino, with a poker card room, was added to the racetrack complex. Horse racing and training were shut down in December 2013 though the casino operations continued until a new state of the art casino building opened in October 2016.

The Red Bank Stakes is a Grade III American Thoroughbred horse race for horses age three and older contested at a distance of one mile on turf held annually at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, New Jersey.
The Ladies Handicap is a historic American Thoroughbred horse race for Fillies and Mares four years of age and older that is held annually at Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York. Inaugurated at the Jerome Park Racetrack in 1868, it is the oldest stakes race in the U.S. exclusively for fillies and mares. An unlisted stakes race, it is currently run on New Year's Day and currently offers a purse of $100,000 added. From its beginnings in 1868 through 1912 the race was restricted to three-year-old fillies then from 1913 through 1938, it was made open to fillies of any age. Since 1939, it has been open to older fillies and mares. There was no race in 1895 and also none in 1911 and 1912, as New York ban on parimutuel betting shut down all racing in the state. In 2006, the race was not run due to the shortage of entrants and as a result of NYRA financial reorganization, neither was it run in 2009.

The Desi Arnaz Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run at Del Mar Racetrack in Del Mar, California. It was named in honor of the actor, musician, bandleader, comedian and producer, Desi Arnaz. It was originally run as the Moccasin Stakes at Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood, California to honor Moccasin, the only two-year-old filly to be named American Horse of the Year. From 1995 through 1997 the race was run as the Maker's Mark Stakes then reverted to the Moccasin Stakes through 2013. Ownership of the race name was acquired at the end of 2013 when Hollywood Park ceased operations. It was first run at Del Mar in 2014 as the Desi Arnaz Stakes.
The Desert Stormer Handicap is an American Thoroughbred horse race held annually in mid May at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Raced on dirt at a distance of six furlongs, it is open to fillies and mares age three and older. It was downgraded to a non-graded stakes after the 2005 Grade III edition, but was returned to Grade III status for the 2017 running.

My Juliet (1972–2001) was an American Thoroughbred champion racehorse who defeated both male and female competitors when earning the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Sprint Horse in 1976. She was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 2019.
