Maapi Angelina Molebatsi is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly. She first served in the assembly between 1999 and 2004,representing the ANC in the North West. [1] She served two further terms consecutively from 2009 to 2019,during which time she was a member of the Portfolio Committee on Police. [2]
In the interim,from February 2006,Molebatsi faced criminal charges for defrauding Parliament in connection with the so-called Travelgate scandal:she was one of several politicians accused of having abused the system of parliamentary travel vouchers between 1999 and 2004. [3] In October 2006,she signed a plea bargain with the Scorpions,in terms of which she pled guilty to theft in the Cape High Court. [4] She was sentenced to pay a fine of R25,000 or serve three years' imprisonment,with an additional mandatory sentence of five years suspended conditionally.
Bathabile Dlamini is a South African politician who was the President of the African National Congress (ANC) Women's League from 2015 to 2022. She was previously the Minister in the Presidency for Women from 2018 to 2019 and the Minister of Social Development from 2010 to 2018.
Gauteng is one of the nine multi-member constituencies of the National Assembly of South Africa,the lower house of the Parliament of South Africa,the national legislature of South Africa. The constituency was established as Pretoria–Witwatersrand–Vereeniging in 1994 when the National Assembly was established by the Interim Constitution following the end of Apartheid. It was renamed Gauteng in 1999. It is conterminous with the province of Gauteng. The constituency currently elects 48 of the 400 members of the National Assembly using the closed party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2019 general election it had 6,381,220 registered electors.

Ndleleni Moses Duma was a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the North West Provincial Legislature until his death in 2018. He also served in the National Assembly between 2009 and 2014. He was a Member of the North West Executive Council from 2004 to 2009 during the premiership of Edna Molewa;during the same period,he was convicted on theft charges in connection with his involvement in the Travelgate scandal during an earlier period of service in the national Parliament.
Mnyamezeli Shedrack "Nyami" Booi is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 1994 to 2019. In the interim,he served briefly in the National Assembly from 2006 to 2009. He was a member of the Democratic Party (DP),later the Democratic Alliance (DA),until September 2005,when he crossed the floor to join the African National Congress (ANC). In 2015,he left the ANC to establish the National Religious Freedom Party,a KwaZulu-Natal-based party of which Ngcobo is president.
