The Ranji Trophy is the premier domestic first-class cricket championship played in India and organized annually by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The teams representing regional and state cricket associations participate. BCCI founded the championship in year 1934,since then it is organised across various grounds and stadiums in India.

The Vidarbha cricket team is an Indian domestic cricket team plays in the India's domestic first-class cricket competition Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. It represents the Vidarbha region of eastern Maharashtra. In December 2017,they reached the final of the Ranji Trophy for the first time in their history,after they beat Karnataka by 5 runs in the semi-finals of the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy tournament. In the final,they beat Delhi by 9 wickets to win their first Ranji Trophy. In the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy,Vidarbha successfully defended the crown by defeating Saurashtra by 78 runs in the final played at Nagpur.
Karumanaseri Narayanaiyer Ananthapadmanabhan is an Indian former first-class cricketer from the state of Kerala. He played for the India "A" national team in international cricket and for South Zone and Kerala in Indian domestic cricket. He is a former captain of Kerala state Ranji Trophy team. He now serves as an umpire at the first-class level and officiates in all the major domestic cricket tournaments in India,including the Ranji Trophy and Indian Premier League. In August 2020,Ananthapadmanabhan was promoted to the International Panel of ICC Umpires.
Indian National Cricket Selectors are a committee of cricket administrators,usually composed of former cricket players and is appointed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Their responsibility is to select members of cricket teams to represent India at various levels. The term for selectors was increased from one year to two years in 2006,with a provision for an additional year based on performance. The selectors are appointed by the BCCI's three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC),which currently includes Sulakshana Naik,Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjpe.
John Wakefield Holder is a Barbadian-born English former first-class cricketer and international cricket umpire. Holder was born in Barbados at Saint George. Following the completion of his education,he emigrated to England in search of work with London Transport. After impressing in club cricket in London,Holder began playing county cricket for Hampshire as a fast-medium bowler,in a first-class career which lasted from 1968 to 1972. After being forced to retire from professional cricket due to injury,Holder later became an umpire at domestic and international level. He would stand as an umpire in both Test and One Day International cricket from 1988 to 2001. Holder retired from umpiring in 2009,having stood in over 400 first-class and List A one-day matches apiece. As of 2023,he remains the only non-white English umpire in 150 years of Test cricket.
Arani Velayudham Jayaprakash is an Indian former first-class cricketer and test cricket umpire.
Christopher Mark Brown,more commonly known as Chris Brown,is a former Cook Islands cricketer,who previously played representative cricket for Auckland at New Zealand domestic level. Born in Rarotonga,Brown's early cricket was played for Auckland under-age teams,and he went on to represent the New Zealand national under-19s in several matches as a right-arm fast bowler. Making his first-class debut during the 1993–94 season of the Shell Trophy,he took ten wickets in his debut match,and represented the New Zealand Cricket Academy twice later in the season.
Imran Ali was an Indian cricketer who played regularly for Vidarbha during the 1960s and 1970s. A talented junior player,he toured Ceylon with an India Schools representative side in April 1964,and made his first-class debut for Vidarbha during the 1964–65 season. Playing as a middle-order batsman,Imran established himself as a regular player in Vidarbha's Ranji Trophy team throughout the next decade,and during the 1968–69 season even played two matches for Central Zone in the Duleep Trophy,although without much success. He retired at the end of the 1976–77 season after thirteen seasons for Vidarbha,having captained the side in his final two seasons.
Anand Shukla was an Indian cricketer who played first-class cricket for a number of teams in India from 1960 to 1978.
Akshay Anil Wakhare is an Indian cricketer who plays for Vidarbha in domestic cricket. He is a right-arm off break bowler who has represented Central Zone.
Chanila Krishna Bhat Nandan is a cricket umpire and former player. His playing career included three first-class matches for Karnataka,over a period from 1983 to 1988. He made his umpiring debut in 1999,and has since umpired in various Indian domestic competitions,including Ranji Trophy and Indian Premier League matches.
Jitesh Mohan Sharma is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian national cricket team. He made his international debut against Nepal on 3 October 2023 during the 2022 Asian Games. He plays for Vidarbha in domestic cricket and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League.
Sulakshan Kashinath Kulkarni is a former Indian first-class cricketer who played for various teams,mainly Mumbai cricket team,from 1985/86 to 2001/02. He became a cricket coach after retirement.
Narender Pal Singh,also known as N. P. Singh,is an Indian former first-class cricketer who represented Hyderabad for 14 seasons. He later worked as a selector for Hyderabad Cricket Association.
