Ankang is a prefecture-level city in the south of Shaanxi Province in the People's Republic of China, bordering Hubei province to the east, Chongqing municipality to the south, and Sichuan province to the southwest. It covers an area of 23,391 square kilometres (9,031 sq mi) and consists Xunyang, a county-level city, one urban district, and eight counties. Its total population was 2,493,436 people according to the 2020 Chinese census, with 1,244,784 living in urban areas.
Ankang is a name shared by a number of psychiatric hospitals or asylums in China. The term literally means "peace and health [for the mentally ill]". Many of these institutions are prison-hospitals for holding prisoners judged to be mentally ill, and operate directly under the local Public Security Bureau. Ankang Fuqiang Airport is an airport in Ankang, Shaanxi province, China, located 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) northwest of city center in the town of Wuli, Hanbin District. Proposed as a replacement of Ankang Wulipu Airport, the Fuqiang Airport project commenced in 2013, and its construction began in December 2015, with an estimated total investment of 2.35 billion yuan. The airport opened on September 25, 2020 for public use, as its first commercial flight China Southern Airlines CZ5269 arrived from Guangzhou.

Ankang class ambulance craft is a class of little known naval auxiliary ship currently in service with the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). The exact type still remains unknown, because the only official Chinese governmental information released on these crafts is that they are classified as fast ambulance craft, and has received NATO reporting name Ankang class, or 安康 in Chinese, meaning Well-Being. By Chinese classification, any naval vessel with displacement above a thousand ton is classified as ship / warship, and any naval vessel with displacement less than a thousand ton is classified as a boat / craft. Ankang class is the only boat / craft in the Chinese navy that is capable of hosting a helicopter, though it only has a landing pad, but not any hangar. A total of five units of this class have been confirmed in active service as of mid-2010s.
