Ankit Khatana is an Indian amateur boxer. [1] He won the bronze medal at the 2018 Youth World Championships held in Hungary. [2] He has been a National Champion, 2019 and was a gold medalist at the 2019 South Asian Games. In International tournaments he won the bronze at the 36th Feliks Stamm International Tournament, Poland. [3] [4]

Early life

Ankit Khatana was born on 9 September 1998 in Abheypur village in Gurugram, Haryana to Sanjay Kumar, a farmer and Balesh, a homemaker.[ citation needed ]

Career

Khatana started his boxing career by participating in 28th Sub Junior Men State Boxing Championship in 2013 and won the bronze medal in the 41st Junior Men Haryana State Boxing Championship 2015–16. Next he won the gold medal in the South Asian Games held in Kathmandu, Nepal. [5] He next won the silver medal in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships 2018. [6] In 2019, Khatana then participated in the 4th Elite men's national boxing championship held in Himachal Pradesh where he bagged a gold medal.

Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom is an Indian amateur boxer, politician, and former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. She is the only woman to win the World Amateur Boxing Championship six times, the only female boxer to have won a medal in each one of the first seven World Championships, and the only boxer to win eight World Championship medals. Nicknamed Magnificent Mary, she was the only Indian female boxer to have qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics, where she competed in the flyweight (51 kg) category and won a bronze medal. She had also been ranked as the world's No. 1 female light-flyweight by the International Boxing Association (amateur) (AIBA). She became the first Indian female boxer to win a gold medal in the Asian Games in 2014 at Incheon, South Korea and is the first Indian female boxer to win gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Subedar Manish Kaushik is an Indian boxer who completes in the lightweight division. He is employed with Indian Army as a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO). She won gold medal at the Cologne Boxing World Cup in Germany.

Sachin Siwach is an Indian boxer from Bhiwani. He became the third Indian to win gold at the World Youth Championship.
