Ankitta Sharma is an Indian television actress. She is the winner of Ticket to Bollywood. She made her television debut with Lajwanti (TV series). Ankitta is best known for portraying the role of Naina Chauhan in Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman . She has also appeared in Yeh Vaada Raha (TV series) as the antagonist and in Laal Ishq (2018 TV series) . She played the lead role in ZEE5 series Ishq Aaj Kal and recently appeared in The Whistleblower.

Early life and career

Sharma hails from Chandigarh [1] and entered acting after winning the reality show Ticket to Bollywood in 2014. [2] She made her television debut with the Zee TV's historical show Lajwanti playing the lead role. [3] [4] [5]

She gained attention after playing the female lead in the Colors TV family drama Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman opposite Samridh Bawa. [6] [7]

In 2021, she is cast as the lead role in the Sony Liv OTT webseries - The Whistleblower.[ citation needed ]

Lajwanti is an Indian television drama show, which premiered on 28 September 2015 on Zee TV. The story is loosely based on Rajinder Singh Bedi's 1956 book titled Lajwanti, Land of five rivers and is set during Partition of India. The show was produced by Trilogy Media. The show is about the relationship between Sunderlal Bharadwaj and Lajwanti (Lajo) living in Badami Bagh Lahore. Sunderlal first time meet on well when he went to Rohranwala Village to attend Marriage Ceremony of his friend Lalchand Baniya. They face many perils throughout the course of their relationship. The series ended on 5 February 2016, where Sunder, who had previously lost his memory and wandered away, reunites with Lajo, and is stopped from marrying Gunwanti. Lajo and Sunder proceed to get married again, jubilantly ending the show.

<i>Ek Shringaar – Swabhiman</i> Indian TV series or programme

Ek Shringaar — Swabhimaan commonly abbreviated as Swabhimaan is an Indian television series produced under the banner Rajshri Productions, by Sooraj Barjatya. The show premiered on 19 December 2016, on Colors TV and replaced the show Swaragini. This show is also available on Voot, Viacom18's Digital Platform. The show revolves around two sisters Meghna, Naina and their mother Sharda who has raised her daughters to be independent and self-sufficient. The series aired its final episode on 29 September 2017. It was later shifted to the 11:00 PM Time Slot. It was replaced by Colors TV Show Laado - Veerpur Ki Mardani at the 9:30 PM Primetime Slot.
