Anna-Karin Olsson (born 10 May 1967) is a Swedish former professional tennis and bandy player. [1]

Biography

Olsson grew up in Värmland. [2]

As a tennis player, Olsson competed on the professional tour in the 1980s and had a best singles ranking of 248. She was most successful as a doubles player, reaching the final of the 1988 Spanish Open and featuring in the main draw of both the French Open and US Open that year. [3]

She played bandy as a forward and started her career at IF Boltic, where she remained until 1989. From 1989 from 2004 she played for AIK and was a member of eight championship winning AIK teams, giving her a record 12 titles in total, having won four while at IF Boltic. She was the league's top shooter in 1998, 1999 and 2001. In 2016 she was inducted into the Swedish Bandy Hall of Fame. [4]

The Elitserien is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018.

The 1988 Spanish Open was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona in Barcelona, Catalonia in Spain and was part of the Category 1 tier of the 1988 WTA Tour. It was the seventh edition of the tournament and was held from 25 April to 1 May 1988. Fifth-seeded Neige Dias won the singles title.

Anna Karin Severina Pohjanen is a Swedish former football midfielder who played in the Damallsvenskan for Sunnanå SK and Älvsjö AIK. She won 51 caps for the Sweden women's national football team, scoring eight goals, and appeared at the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup and the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Best known as a bandy and ice hockey player, she won a sum of 26 Finnish Championships in association football, bandy and rink bandy, field hockey, and golf, and two Swedish Championships in ice hockey.
