Anna Fur Laxis is an English pin-up model and burlesque dancer, particularly noteworthy for her extensive tattoos and her introduction of axe-throwing and other unusual skills into her work. [1] Her performances include residencies at Jeepers Peepers Burlesque (York, UK) and Wet Spot (Leeds, UK), and have been acclaimed around the world. She also makes frequent appearances in print both as a model and as a celebrity, having appeared many times in 21st Century Pin-Ups magazine, Skin Deep magazine and Bizarre magazine.

She studied radiography at university, [2] and in 2005 chose the name Anna Fur Laxis, a pun on anaphylaxis, [3] for modelling, continuing to use it for burlesque dancing. [4] She made her debut as a burlesque dancer in the Ruby Review in Leeds. [2] Her tattoo on her left arm covers third-degree burns from an accident at a young age. [5]

In the Knife, Axe, Tomahawk Throwing Association UK Tournament, 2010, she finished second to Rich Sunderland in the 1 spin knife category, and joint second with Chris Bilton and Rose Bilton to Rich Sunderland in the 2 spin knife category. [6]

She was first runner up to the winner, Miss Indigo Blue, in the Miss Exotic World Pageant 2011 at the Burlesque Hall of Fame. [7] [8]

Axe throwing Sport

The modern sport of axe throwing involves a competitor throwing an axe at a target, attempting to hit the bullseye as near as possible. Axe throwing has historically been an event in lumberjack competitions. As of the fall of 2020 there are commercial locations in Canada, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Poland where participants can compete, similar to dart throwing, as well as opportunities at festivals and some theme parks.

The Pin Up Girls

The Pin Up Girls are a girl group and dance troupe, founded by New York City native Vixen Romeo in 2005, which began as a burlesque-style performance group based in Los Angeles. Performing at Hollywood's most notorious venues such as The Viper Room Key Club and Roxy the girls quickly gained local attention with their girl-on-girl themed, tribal fusion belly dance, burlesque and hip hop routines.
