Anna Hofer (born 28 February 1988) is a retired Italian alpine skier.

She competed at the 2005 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival and the 2006 Junior World Championships, 2007 and 2008 Junior World Championships without breaking into the top 10. [1]

She made her FIS Alpine Ski World Cup debut in January 2011 in Cortina d'Ampezzo, collecting her first World Cup points in her next race, a 16th place in giant slalom in Arber-Zwiesel. Following several meagre years, she experienced a minor breakthrough in December 2017, recording 21st and 10th places in Val d'Isère and a 20th place in Bad Kleinkirchheim in January 2018. However, after reverting to several placements in the 30s and 40s rank she collected her final World Cup points in December 2019 in Val Gardena, finishing 27th in the super-G. [1]

She represented the sports club GS Fiamme Oro. [1]

Lindsey Vonn American alpine skier

Lindsey Caroline Vonn is an American former World Cup alpine ski racer on the US Ski Team. She won four World Cup overall championships—one of only two female skiers to do so, along with Annemarie Moser-Pröll—with three consecutive titles in 2008, 2009, and 2010, plus another in 2012. Vonn won the gold medal in downhill at the 2010 Winter Olympics, the first one for an American woman. She also won a record eight World Cup season titles in the downhill discipline, five titles in super-G, and three consecutive titles in the combined (2010–2012). In 2016, she won her 20th World Cup crystal globe title, the overall record for men or women, surpassing Ingemar Stenmark of Sweden, who won 19 globes from 1975 to 1984. She has the second highest super ranking of all skiers, men or women.

The 35th World Cup season began in October 2000 in Sölden, Austria, and concluded in March 2001 at the World Cup finals at Åre, Sweden. The overall winners were Hermann Maier of Austria, his third, and Janica Kostelić of Croatia, her first. Maier won 13 races and had nearly twice the points of his nearest competitor, compatriot Stephan Eberharter. In the women's competition, Kostelić won nine races and won the overall by 67 points over Renate Götschl of Austria. There were no North Americans in the top ten of either competition.

2006–07 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2006–2007 season of the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup

The 41st World Cup season was scheduled to begin on 28 October 2006, but cancellation of the opening races in Sölden delayed the season's start by two weeks. A very poor snowpack in the Alps, along with stormy weather in January, caused numerous races to be moved and rescheduled throughout the winter. The schedule included a mid-season break during the first 3 weeks of February for the World Championships in Åre, Sweden. The season concluded on 18 March 2007, at the World Cup Finals in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

Franck Piccard is a French former Alpine skier. A native of Les Saisies, Piccard won a total of four Alpine skiing World Cup races. At the 1988 Olympics in Calgary he won a gold medal in the Super-G competition and a bronze medal in the downhill. At the 1992 Olympics in Albertville he won a silver medal in the downhill. He also could achieve a bronze-medal in the Super-G-Race at the FIS Alpine Skiing World Championships 1991.

The 48th World Cup season began on 26 October 2013, in Sölden, Austria, and concluded on 16 March 2014 at the World Cup finals in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. The defending overall champions from the 2013 season were Marcel Hirscher of Austria and Tina Maze of Slovenia. The overall titles were won by Hirscher and Anna Fenninger, also of Austria. The season was interrupted by the 2014 Winter Olympics that took place from 7 to 23 February in Sochi, Russia, with the alpine events at Rosa Khutor.
