History

At its founding, the journal was titled Annals of Library Science. [4] In 1964, the name was changed to Annals of Library Science and Documentation. [4] The current title was assigned in 2001. [4]

The founding editor was S R Ranganathan, who contributed to about 50% of the articles during 1954 to 1963. [2]

The National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR), located at New Delhi, India, was an information science institute in India founded in 2002. In 2021, the institute was merged with National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies to form National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (NIScPR). It operated under the umbrella of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) that comprise 38 other labs and institutes in India. The institute published several academic journals and magazines.

Kadapuram Abraham Isaac was an Indian writer and librarian. He was a Professor and Head of the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. Isaac was known for initiating and moulding the professional Library and Information Science (LIS) education in Kerala and has authored several books on Library and Information Science. He had served as a member of the Senate of the Kerala University and as Dean of its Arts Faculty.

<i>Journal of Immunology</i> Academic journal

The Journal of Immunology is a biweekly peer-reviewed medical journal that publishes basic and clinical studies in all aspects of immunology. Established in 1916, it changed its name to Journal of Immunology, Virus Research and Experimental Chemotherapy from 1943 to 1949, then returned to the original Journal of Immunology in 1950. It is the official journal of the American Association of Immunologists. The editor-in-chief is Eugene M. Oltz.

<i>Environmental Science & Technology</i> Academic journal

It covers research in environmental science and environmental technology, including environmental policy. BioData Mining is a peer-reviewed open access scientific journal covering data mining methods applied to computational biology and medicine established in 2008. It is published by BioMed Central and the editors-in-chief are Jason H. Moore and Marylyn D. Ritchie.

Glossa: A Journal of General Linguistics is a peer-reviewed open access academic journal covering general linguistics. It was established in 2016. The journal is published by the Open Library of Humanities and the editor-in-chief is Johan Rooryck.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Open access in India</span> Overview of the culture and regulation of open access in India

In India, Open Access movement started in May 2004, when two workshops were organized by the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai. In 2006, the National Knowledge Commission in its recommendations proposed that "access to knowledge is the most fundamental way of increasing the opportunities and reach of individuals and groups". In 2009, the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) began requiring that its grantees provide open access to funded research. In 2011, the Open Access India forum formulated a draft policy on Open Access for India. Shodhganga, a digital repository for theses, was established in 2011 with the aim of promoting and preserving academic research. The University Grants Commission (UGC) made it mandatory for scholars to deposit their theses in Shodhganga, as per the Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M. Phil./Ph.D. Degrees Regulations, 2016.Currently, the Directory of Open Access Journals lists 326 open access journals published in India, of which 233 have no fees.

The World Journal of Urology is a peer-reviewed scientific journal of urology published by Springer in collaboration with the Société Internationale d'Urologie (SIU). It is the official journal of both the Société Internationale d'Urologie and of the Urological Research Society.

<i>Die Musikforschung</i> Academic journal

Die Musikforschung is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal of musicological which since 1948 is published on behalf of the Gesellschaft für Musikforschung by Bärenreiter. The Editor-in-Chief has been Dr Rich Boden of the University of Plymouth since 2014.

Symmetry is a monthly peer-reviewed open access scientific journal published by MDPI covering several aspects of theories and applications related to symmetry/asymmetry phenomena in the natural sciences. The journal was established in 2009 and the editor-in-chief is Sergei Odintsov. The journal features occasional special issues on specific selected topics.

Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems is a peer-reviewed open-access scientific journal covering research in Earth and planetary processes with a focus on understanding the Earth as a system. The journal is published by Wiley on behalf of the American Geophysical Union. As of May 2022 the editor-in-chief is Claudio Faccenna.

<i>Water International</i> Water resources academic journal

Water International is a peer-reviewed scientific journal covering research on water resources. It is the official journal of the International Water Resources Association and was established in 1972. The journal is published by Routledge in 8 issues per year and focuses on international water resources including science, technology, governance, management, and policy. The editor-in-chief is James E. Nickum.

The Veterinary Journal is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering veterinary science and related topics. The journal was established in 1875 as The Veterinary Journal and Annals of Comparative Pathology and renamed The Veterinary Journal in 1900,then renamed British Veterinary Journal in 1949 before finally obtaining its current title in 1997. It is published by Elsevier and the editor-in-chief is Annette L. Litster. The journal publishes research articles, review articles, and case studies.
