Annapurna Pally is a township in ward no. 12 of Raghunathpur municipality, mouza Nanduara, Purulia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. This township is named after Goddess Annapurna, whose temple situated at the middle of the Township. It is situated at 1 kilometre from Joychandi Pahar railway station and adjacent to the mountain called Joychandi Pahar. [1] [2]

Joychandi Pahar is a hill which is a popular tourist attraction in the Indian state of West Bengal in Purulia district. It is two kilometres from the subdivisional town of Raghunathpur and four kilometres from Adra town. The hill is situated 2 kilometers south from Purulia – Barakar road via Nanduara village and 1 kilometer west from Raghunathpur-Adra Road via a growing township known as Annapurna pally. It is also just four kilometres away from Adra Junction railway station and 1.5 kilometres from Joychandipahar railway station, which is situated on Adra-Asansol section. Joychandi hill is a popular tourist centre and major attraction for rock climbing. Joychandi Pahar railway station is on the Asansol – Adra section of South Eastern Railway, in the state capital of Kolkata. The other rock climbing centre nearby is at Susunia Pahar.

Kala Pahar is the highest peak of Greater Sylhet. It is also the highest point of the northern part of Bangladesh. Located near Robir bazar of Kulaura upazila in Moulvibazar district, it is only 3–4 hours trekking distance from Azgarabad Tea Estate. This peak is also accessible from Rajki tea estate near Fultola bazar of Juri upazila. The hill range of Kala Pahar is locally known as Longla Range. 'Kala Pahar' is the local name of the highest peak. According to Bangladesh Geographic society this hill is also known as 'Hararganj pahar'. In Bengali language 'hill' word means 'Pahar'. Situated in the north-eastern part of the country 60% of the range is in Bangladesh and the rest is in the Northern Tripura state of India. In Tripura, part of this hill is known as Raghunandan pahar. The famous ancient religious archaeological site of India ‘Unakoti’ lies at the foot of this hill. Kala Pahar is about 1,100 feet high from the sea level. In November 2015, few members of a local adventure group of Bangladesh BD Explorer explored this peak and measured the highest point as 1,098 feet with Garmin handheld gps. The view from the peak is awesome. During Autumn season,if the sky is clear one can observe the blue water of Hakaluki haor(Largest haor of Bangladesh) from the high point of Kala Pahar. There are few Khasi establishments adjacent to this hill. Like Nunchora punji, Panaichora punji, Putichora punji and Baigonchora punji.
Nagaon Express, is a weekly Express train belonging to Northeast Frontier Railway zone of Indian Railways that connects Silghat Town of Assam and Tambaram in the South Indian metropolis of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The train was extended to Tambaram on a trial basis from August 2017. The train was also extended from Guwahati to Silghat Town.
