The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations. In 1981 the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation (BWF).

Carolina María Marín Martín is a Spanish professional badminton player. She is an Olympic Champion, three-time World Champion, five-time European Champion, and the former World's No. 1 in BWF rankings for the women's singles discipline, holding the World No. 1 title for 66 weeks. Widely regarded as one of the greatest female athletes in women's singles badminton, she holds the distinction of having won a medal in almost every BWF tournament, along with the consecutive golds at the World Championships, and the European Championships.
Viktor Axelsen is a Danish badminton player. He is the 2017 World champion and the 2020 Olympic champion. He won the 2010 World Junior Championships, beating South Korea's Kang Ji-wook in the final to become the first ever European player to hold the title. Axelsen was crowned European men's singles champion in 2016 and 2018.
Brice Leverdez is a French badminton player. He was a champion at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, won a silver medal at the 2015 European Games, and a bronze medal at the 2018 European Championships.
Bao Yixin is a Chinese badminton doubles player. She won titles in the women's doubles category with many different partners. She won two World Junior titles at the 2010 BWF World Junior Championships held in Guadalajara, Mexico. In the girls' doubles event, she was crowned World Junior Champion with Ou Dongni and in the mixed doubles she was crowned with Liu Cheng. She also won the mixed doubles at the 2009 Asian Junior Championships with Lu Kai and the mixed doubles at the 2010 Asian Junior Championships with Liu Cheng. Partnering with Tang Yuanting, Bao became the women's doubles champion at the 2015 All England Open. Bao graduated with a bachelor's degree from Xiangtan University.
Chou Tien-chen is a badminton player from Taiwan. He became the first local shuttler in 17 years to win the men's singles title of the Chinese Taipei Open in 2016 since Indonesian-born Fung Permadi won it in 1999. He won his first BWF Super Series title at the 2014 French Open, beating Wang Zhengming of China 10–21, 25–23, 21–19 in the finals. He is the record holder of three consecutive Bitburger Open Grand Prix Gold titles from 2012 till 2014.
Akane Yamaguchi is a Japanese badminton player who is the reigning World Champion, winning gold in the women's singles at the 2021 BWF World Championships. She was on the winning Japanese team at the Asian Junior Championships in 2012 and won various women's singles titles afterward. She then won the World Junior Championships in 2013 and 2014, the Asian Junior Championships in 2014, and the Asian Championships in 2019. She helped Japan in winning by the maximum score of 3–0 at the 2017, 2018, and 2020 Asia Team Championships, and to end 37 years for Japan without a title in the Uber Cup in 2018.
Marcus Fernaldi Gideon is an Indonesian badminton player currently ranked world No. 1 in the men's doubles by the Badminton World Federation. He plays for PB Jaya Raya, and has joined the club since June 2018. He won the 2017 All England Open with his current partner Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo. He and Sukamuljo were recognized as one of the most outstanding players, and awarded as the BWF Best Male Players of the Year for two years in a row after collecting seven Superseries titles in 2017 and eight World Tour titles in 2018.
Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo is an Indonesian badminton player currently ranked world number 1 in the men's doubles by the Badminton World Federation. He plays for PB Djarum, and has been a member of the club since 2007. He won the men's doubles titles at the All England Open in 2017 and 2018; World Superseries Finals in 2017; and at the Asian Games in 2018. He also featured in the Indonesia winning team at the Southeast Asian Games in 2015, and at the Asia Team Championships in 2018 and 2020. Together with his current partner, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, they were awarded the BWF Best Male Players of the Year for two years in a row after collecting seven Superseries titles in 2017 and eight World Tour titles in 2018.
Stefani Stoeva is a Bulgarian badminton player specializing in doubles. Her current partner is her older sister, Gabriela Stoeva. They competed at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. The duo together have won gold medals in the 2015 European Games and two successive European Championships in 2018 and 2021 editions. Stefani Stoeva has also won some individual titles in women's singles competition.

Robin Tabeling is a Dutch badminton player, specializing in doubles play. He started playing badminton in Amstelveen at a club called BV van Zijderveld. He won a silver medal at the 2013 European Junior Championships in the mixed doubles event and a bronze medal in team event. Partnered with Jelle Maas, he won bronze medals at the 2018 European Championships and 2019 European Games. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Anne Tran is a French Vietnamese badminton player. Tran was the women's doubles champion at the 2013 and 2017 French National Championships. She was part of the French junior team that won the silver medal at the 2013 European Junior Championships, and in 2015 she won the silver medal in the girls' doubles, also bronze medals in the mixed doubles and team events. Tran clinched the silver medal at the 2018 European Championships in the women's doubles event partnered with Émilie Lefel, making them as the first French women's doubles players won a medal at that category.
Thom Mark Gicquel is a French badminton player. Born in Tours, he started playing badminton at aged six in his parents club. Gicquel made his debut in the international senior tournament at the 2015 Riga International in Latvia, finished as the men's doubles runner-up partnered with Thomas Baures. He was part of the national junior team that won the bronze medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships, and made it to the gold medal in 2017. He also won the gold medal in the boys' doubles event with Toma Junior Popov. At the 2018 European Men's Team Championships, he helped the team claim the bronze medal. Teamed-up with Bastian Kersaudy, they clinched the men's doubles gold at the 2018 Mediterranean Games. He captured a bronze medal at the 2019 European Games in the mixed doubles event with Delphine Delrue. Gicquel and Delrue reached a career high as world number 10 in the BWF World ranking in 9 March 2021. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Anders Antonsen is a Danish badminton player. He won the gold medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys singles event, and at the same year was awarded the European Young Player of the Year. Together with the national team, he won the European Men's Team Championships in 2016 and 2018; also European Mixed Team Championships in 2017, 2019 and 2021. Antonsen was the champion at the 2019 Minsk European Games, 2021 European Championships, and the silver medalists at the 2017 European Championships, and the 2019 World Championships.

Zheng Yu is a Chinese badminton player from the Jiangsu province team. She started playing badminton in 2003, claimed the Jiangsu province title in the singles and doubles category in 2006 and 2007, then was selected to join the national team for the first time in 2010. She was part of the national junior team that won the mixed team gold medals at the 2011 Asian and 2012 World Junior Championships. She won her first senior international title at the BWF Super 500 tournament 2020 Malaysia Masters partnered with Li Wenmei.
The 2020 SaarLorLux Open was a badminton tournament which took place at Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Germany, from 27 October to 1 November 2020 and had a total prize of $90,000.
Julie MacPherson is a Scottish badminton player who competes in international level events. She affiliate with club V3F, Mulhouse. She has won the Scottish National Championships four times in the women's doubles and two times in the mixed doubles. She also part of team Scotland that won the bronze medal at the 2020 European Women's Team Championships.
