Pincus studied Visual Art at the Monash University, Gippsland campus from 1978 to 1983. [1] She was a member of the Roar 2 Studio artists collective in Fitzroy, Melbourne. [2] She received her Graduate Diploma in Religious Education from La Trobe University in 1992. [1] In 1994 she moved to Germany. [3] She has participated in many group and solo exhibitions.

Nevill Drury wrote in 1994 that "Anne Pincus ... introduce[s] a more general mystical quality to their painting which evokes a sense of space and timelessness not rooted in any specific religio[n]". [4] In the 2010s, Pincus explored contrasting ways of depicting places, and the symbolism of gardens, overlaying the symbols of topographical maps on to blurred oil paintings of gardens. [5] [6] [7] She has also explored different perceptions of forests, as threatening, fairy-tale like or vulnerable, through her paintings and installations. [8] [9] [10]

In 2014, she participated in an artistic exploration of the theme 'Building Bridges with Christ' displayed in Saint Blaise Abbey, Black Forest, with an installation called 'Parachute Love', a parachute suspended floating beneath the Gothic vault. [11] She had also displayed this installation in St. Benedict's Church, Munich, in 2006.

Pincus also teaches at the Münchner Volkshochschule  [ de ], the Munich Adult Education Centre. [1]

Norbert Prangenberg was an abstract painter, sculptor, and engraver who was born in Nettseheim, just outside of Cologne, Germany. Though he had no formal training and did not fully engage with art until his 30s, Prangenberg did finally come up with a style that was uniquely his own, not fitting comfortably into the neo-expressionist or neo-geo movements of his time, in the 1970s and 1980s. At this time, he was considered a major figure in contemporary German art. Though he got his start with abstract paintings, he also became known for making sculptures of all sizes; and while his work initially appears abstract, the titles given sometimes allude to the human body or a landscape. As a trained gold- and silversmith, as well as a glassblower, he always showed an attention to materials and how they could be physically engaged with. He was interested in how his own two hands could affect the painting or sculpture's surface. Traces of the artist's hand appear literally throughout his entire oeuvre, before he lost the battle with liver cancer in 2012.
