Annelies Nuy

Annelies Nuy (born 15 December 1960) [1] is a Dutch fashion designer, founder of the lingerie line Der Kommissar.

Nuy was born in Doornenburg, studied fashion and "new media" at the Academy for Applied Arts in Arnhem, and in 1997 launched one of the first fashion websites.[ citation needed ] In 1998 she launched FashionFastForward, the first Dutch fashion platform with a sales module; this was in operation until May 2002, when she took a position with the Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers (the association of Dutch designers and illustrators). [2] In 2006 Nuy launched Der Kommissar, a lingerie label which included fetish themes. Nuy said in 2006, when her first collection was shown, that the clothes were primarily intended not for functionality, but to enable the client to "play with her alter ego", [3] and titled her summer 2009 collection "High Fetish Alterego Lingerie". [4] The brand's philosophy has been put in terms of "four P's": "Please, Play, Passion and Power". Between 2006 and 2009, she presented her collections during the Amsterdam Fashion week, [4] [5] at Mode Marché Rotterdam [6] [7] and at the Arnhem Fashion Biennale. [8] In addition she presented internationally at the first Glasgow Fashion Week, [9] at the Interfiliere Evolution Days in Paris [10] and at the first Boudoir Show in Berlin, for which Nuy designed lingerie for Barbie. Manon was born Rosmarie Küng in Bern, Switzerland. She produces installations, performances and photography. She first came to prominence in the 1974 with the installation The Salmon coloured boudoir. Her environments and photographic scenes are distillations of social change in the 1970s, sexual liberation, and the search for new roles. In photographic series such as Woman with shaved head and Ball of lonelinesses she addresses among other things the social construction of identity.

Iris van Herpen is a Dutch fashion designer known for fusing technology with traditional haute couture craftsmanship. Van Herpen opened her own label Iris van Herpen in 2007. In 2011, the Dutch designer became a guest-member of the Parisian Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, part of the Fédération française de la couture. Since then, Van Herpen has continuously exhibited her new collections at Paris Fashion Week. Van Herpen's work has been included in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York and the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.

Barbara Bloom lives and works in New York City. She is a conceptual artist best known for her multi-media installation works. Bloom is loosely affiliated with a group of artists referred to as The Pictures Generation. For nearly twenty years she lived in Europe, first in Amsterdam then Berlin. Since 1992, she has lived in New York City with her husband, the writer-composer Chris Mann, and their daughter.

Viviane Sassen is a Dutch artist living in Amsterdam. She is a photographer who works in both the fashion and fine art world. She is known for her use of geometric shapes, often abstractions of bodies. She has been widely published and exhibited. She was included in the 2011 New Photography exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art. She has created campaigns for Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, and Louis Vuitton, among others. She has won the Dutch Prix de Rome (2007) and the Infinity Award from International Center of Photography.

Bas Kosters is a Dutch fashion designer, known for his colourful designs and the use of prints. In 2003 he graduated from the Fashion Institute in Arnhem with the collection 'Two Teacups and a Frying Pan', with this collection he also won the Robijn Fashion Award. In 2005 he established the Bas Kosters Studio in Amsterdam. In 2009 he won the Dutch Fashion Incubator Award and in 2010 he won the Dutch Fashion International Incubator Award.

Carla Maria Fong Leng Tsang is a Chinese-Dutch fashion designer. She herself calls her clothing designs creations. Fong Leng started a fashion boutique in 1969 in the Drugstore at the Nieuwendijk in Amsterdam. In 1971 she moved to larger premises at the P.C. Hooftstraat and called it Studio Fong Leng. She is mostly known for her extravagant cloak dresses. Fong Leng’s most notable client was Mathilde Willink, the divorced wife of the Dutch magic realist painter Carel Willink.

Monique van Heist is a Rotterdam-based Dutch fashion designer. Heist mainly focusses on women’s wear and unisex wardrobe pieces. Some of her fashion lines are available for long periods of time.

Alicia Framis is a contemporary artist living and working in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She develops platforms for creative social interaction, often through interdisciplinary collaboration with other artists and specialists across various fields. Her work is project based and focuses on different aspects of human existence within contemporary urban society. Framis often starts out from actual social dilemmas to develop novel settings and proposed solutions. Framis studied with the French minimalist artist Daniel Buren and the American conceptual artist Dan Graham and her work can be located within the lineages of relational aesthetics, performance art, and social practice art. She represented the Netherlands in the Dutch Pavilion at the 50th Venice Biennale (2003). She is currently the director of an MA program at the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam, Netherlands and a lecturer at Nebrija University in Madrid, Spain. In 2019, Alicia Framis was awarded with the Lucas Artists Visual Arts Fellowship 2019-2022 in California.

Schepers Bosman is a Dutch fashion designer duo consisting of Sanne Schepers and Anne Bosman.
