Annett Horna (born February 4, 1987, in Magdeburg, East Germany) is a German athlete who is best known as an 800 meter and 1500 meter runner for SV Halle.

Annett Horna (born February 4, 1987, in Magdeburg, East Germany) is a German athlete who is best known as an 800 meter and 1500 meter runner for SV Halle.
Her first success in the senior women division was her victory in the 2008 German Championships in the 4x400m relay with the relay team of TSV Bayer Leverkusen (Caroline Dieckhöner, Maren Schott, Annett Horna, Sorina Nwachukwu; 3:40.94 min). The team was able to defend their title in 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2008 and 2012, Horna won the German Championship with her club's 3x800m relay team.
At the 2005 European Athletics Junior Championships in Kaunas (Lithuania) Horna finished in 8th place of the 800m race. She was eliminated in the semi-final of the 2006 World Junior Championships in Athletics in Beijing, and in the first heat of the 2009 European Athletics Junior Championships in Kaunas, both times over the 800m distance. In 2009 she won her first individual national title during the German Indoor Athletics Championships. She won the silver medal at the 2009 and 2010 German Athletics Championships. In 2013 Horna won the title over the 1500m distance at the German Indoor Athletics Championships, and she defended her title in 2014. [1]
Since 2015, Horna has focused on long-distance running. At her debut over the half marathon distance, she won the bronze medal during the 2015 German Half Marathon Championships. [2] She currently lives in Leipzig and starts for SV Halle since 2016.
Petra Schersing is a retired East German sprinter who specialised in the 400 metres. She represented sports club SC Chemie Halle and was coached by Harold Werner. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, she won a silver medal in the 400 metres and a bronze medal in the 4×400 metres relay.

Her father was a high school basketball star in Pennsylvania, and her mother was a national level swimmer in her native England. Jordan Hasay is no longer coached by Alberto Salazar due to his suspension.

She represented Germany at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics and was the 3000 metres bronze medallist at the 2005 European Indoor Championships. She has a marathon best of 2:26:21, set at the 2010 Berlin Marathon.

The German Indoor Athletics Championships is an annual indoor track and field competition organised by the German Athletics Association, which serves as the German national championship for the sport. Typically held over two to three days in February during the German winter, the first Unified Germany championships occurred in 1991, succeeding the West German and East German indoor nationals. The unified indoor event preceded the newly-unified outdoor German Athletics Championships in the summer of 1991. National indoor championships in relays, racewalking and combined track and field events are usually contested at separate locations.
