Annick De Ridder (born 4 February 1979) is a Belgian politician for the N-VA and a member of the Flemish Parliament.
De Ridder graduated with a degree in law from UFSIA before completing a postgraduate degree in finance from KU Leuven. [1] She worked for Katoen Natie and from 2014 to 2015 was again a director of the Antwerp Port Authority. [2]
De Ridder initially began her political career in the Open VLD and was elected to Antwerp municipal council and the Flemish Parliament for the party in 2004 before stepping down in 2011 to focus on her professional career. She left the Open VLD in 2013 due to disagreeing with the course of the party after it chose to participate in Elio Di Rupo's government and switched her support to the New Flemish Alliance. [3] [4] In 2018,she was re-elected as a municipal councilor of Antwerp for the N-VA and returned to the Flemish Parliament in 2019. [1]
Ninove is a city and municipality in the Flemish province of East Flanders in Belgium. It is on the river Dender,and is part of the Denderstreek. The municipality comprises the city of Ninove proper and since the 1976 merger of the towns of Appelterre-Eichem,Aspelare,Denderwindeke,Lieferinge,Meerbeke,Nederhasselt,Neigem,Okegem,Outer,Pollare and Voorde. On 1 January 2023 Ninove had a total population of 40.090. The total area is 72.57 km2 which gives a population density of 553 inhabitants per km2.
Eduard Marie August "Ward" Beysen was a Belgian politician and well-known freemason. He held a degree in Dutch and history teaching,obtained in 1963,in Lier and started his political career in the seventies in the Flemish liberal party,the Party for Freedom and Progress (PVV),which was renamed Flemish Liberals and Democrats (VLD) in 1992. Ward Beysen –suffering a depression –died by drowning himself in the lake of Fort 6 in the south of Antwerp.

Alfons "Fons" Borginon is a Belgian politician and lawyer. He was a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives between 1995 and 2007. Borginon was the last chairman of the Volksunie and Flemish Liberals and Democrats (VLD) floor leader from 2006 until the general election of 2007. He was also granted knighthood in the Belgian Order of Leopold. He is married to Kristin Ex and father of Hendrik,Irene and Margreet.
The Belgian provincial,municipal and district elections of 2006 took place on Sunday 8 October 2006. The electors have elected the municipal councillors of 589 cities and towns as well as the ten provincial councils. The voters in the town of Antwerp have also been able to vote for the city's district councils. In seven Flemish municipalities with a special language statute and in the Walloon municipality of Comines-Warneton the aldermen and the members of the OCMW/CPAS council have also been directly elected.
The 2007–2008 Belgian government formation followed the general election of 10 June 2007,and comprised a period of negotiation in which the Flemish parties Flemish Liberal Democratic,Christian Democratic and Flemish (CD&V) and New Flemish Alliance (N-VA),and the French-speaking parties Reformist Movement (MR),Democratic Front of Francophones (FDF) and Humanist Democratic Centre (CdH) negotiated to form a government coalition. The negotiations were characterized by the disagreement between the Dutch- and French-speaking parties about the need for and nature of a constitutional reform. According to some,this political conflict could have led to a partition of Belgium.
Jan Jambon is a Belgian businessman and politician of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) who has been serving as Minister-President of Flanders since 2019. He replaced Kris Peeters as a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives in 2007. The N-VA was,at that time,partnered with the Christian-Democratic and Flemish party. In June 2010 and May 2014 he was re-elected on an N-VA list.

The Bourgeois Government (Regering-Bourgeois) was the Flemish Government formed following the 2014 Flemish Parliament election. The cabinet consisted of a centre-right coalition of the nationalist New Flemish Alliance (N-VA),the Christian Democratic and Flemish party (CD&V) and the Open Flemish Liberals and Democrats. It had a large majority in the Flemish Parliament and the main opposition parties were the Socialist Party (sp.a),which had been part of nearly all previous governments in recent history,and the Green party.
