Anse Source d'Argent is a beach situated in the southwest coast of La Digue, Seychelles. It is listed in Lonely Planet as one of the world's best beaches in 2024. [1]

Location

The beach is located within the L'Union Estate, a historic coconut plantation and vanilla farm that now serves as a nature reserve. [2] Access to Anse Source d'Argent requires a small entrance fee to estate. [3] [4]

The beach is often considered the world's most photographed, because of its massive boulders as "reminiscent of prehistoric times." [5] [6]

Most of the inhabitants live in the west coast villages of La Passe and Anse Réunion. There is no airport on La Digue, so to get there from a foreign country, one must fly to Victoria and continue by ferry, usually via Praslin. It has an area of 10.08 km2, making it relatively easy to travel by bike or on foot.

The Seychelles paradise flycatcher is a rare bird from the genus of paradise flycatchers (Terpsiphone) within the family Monarchidae. It is a forest-dwelling bird endemic to the Seychelles where it is native to the island of La Digue. Males have glossy black plumage with elongated tail feathers, while females are reddish-brown with pale underparts and no long tail feathers. The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists this bird as being "Vulnerable" and attempts have been made to increase its numbers by relocating some individuals to Denis Island, another island in the Seychelles archipelago.

The 142 m (466 ft) superyacht Nord was launched by Lürssen at their yard near Bremen-Vegesack. Both the yacht's exterior and interior design are the work of Nuvolari & Lenard. Nord, formerly known as Project OPUS, was built under the supervision of yacht brokerage Moran Yacht & Ship based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ship belongs to billionaire Alexey Mordashov and is estimated to be worth $500 million. Following Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine the yacht sailed to the Seychelles and then on to the Russian Pacific port of Vladivostok to escape seizure by Western authorities.
