Anthony Colandrea (born October 16, 2004) is an American football quarterback who plays for the Virginia Cavaliers.
Colandrea was born in Saint Petersburg, Florida where he attended Lakewood High School. In Colandrea's high school career, he completed 508 out of his 812 pass attempts for 7,311 yards and 60 touchdowns to 24 interceptions. Colandrea also rushed for 1,021 yards 11 touchdowns, while also hauling in four receptions for 68 yards. [1] Colandrea would decide to commit to play college football at the University of Virginia. Colandrea made his first career start in week two after starting quarterback Tony Muskett went down with an injury. In his first start, Colandrea completed 20 of his 26 passes for 377 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, but the Cavaliers would fall to James Madison 36-35. [4] [5] For his performance on the game, Colandrea was named the ACC freshman of the week. [6] [7] Colandrea started 6 games as a true freshman with 1,958 yards 13 touchdowns and 9 interceptions and finishing with a record of 1-5 for Virginia in 2023. [8]

The Virginia Cavaliers football team represents the University of Virginia (UVA) in the sport of American football. Established in 1887, Virginia plays its home games at Scott Stadium, capacity 61,500, featured directly on its campus near the Academical Village. UVA played an outsized role in the shaping of the modern game's ethics and eligibility rules, as well as its safety rules after a Georgia fullback died fighting the tide of a lopsided Virginia victory in 1897.

The 1954 VPI Gobblers football team represented Virginia Polytechnic Institute, now known as Virginia Tech, in the 1954 college football season. The team, coached by Frank Moseley, had an 8–0-1 record. The team was ranked 16th in the final Associated Press poll. Three major college football teams had perfect records in 1954, but the Gobblers only prevailed over one team with a winning record, fellow Southern Conference member Richmond, which was 5–4.
