Antigua Barbuda Global Music & Media Awards (ABGMA) is an annual [1] event in Antigua and Barbuda established by So Arise Music International in 2014, [2] to celebrate and award talent in music [3] [4] [5] [6] and media. [7] [8] The festival promotes artistic excellence, community contributions, and cultural enrichment in Antigua and Barbuda and the region by extension. [9] [10] [11]
Initially focused on gospel music, [12] [13] [14] [15] the ABGMA was founded on 2014 by Apostle Stanshaw Cornelius. It has since expanded to include multiple awards, [16] such as the Legacy Ball & Media Awards [17] [18] [19] and the Island Groove Awards, recognizing achievements in over 80 categories. The festival employs an online voting system in more than 80 categories. [24] [25] [26] [27] [23]
In addition to the public voting, there is a committee that evaluates nominees based on several criteria, including popularity, relevance to current trends, and the quality of information presented. [21] [23]
The founders established also the ABGMA Academy, [28] which invites professionals from diverse creative fields to become Voting Members, actively participating in the nomination process. [29] [23]

The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) is a political party in Antigua and Barbuda. The current leader of the party is Gaston Browne, who serves as the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda. The party had previously been led by Lester Bird, who was chairman of the party since 1971, and was Prime Minister and political leader in 1994.

Sir Ronald Michael Sanders is an Antiguan Barbudan diplomat, academic, former broadcast-journalist, and the current Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States and to the Organization of American States (OAS) since 2015. He holds the unique distinction of being the first person, since the OAS enlarged its membership in 1962, to serve as Chairman of the Permanent Council of the OAS for an unprecedented three terms. He completed his highly successful third term on December 31, 2023, having played a widely recognized role in guiding the work of the Permanent Council in the peaceful transition of government in Guatemala on 14 January 2024.

On 14 January 2025, a by-election was held in the Antiguan parliamentary seat of St. Peter following the assassination of Asot Michael. It was Antigua and Barbuda's third election since Prime Minister Gaston Browne emerged victorious in the 2023 general election. It was also the second by-election held outside of Barbuda since independence in 1981. At 23:24 AST, the election was called by ABS for Turner.
The Antigua Broadcasting Service (ABS) is the state-owned broadcaster of Antigua and Barbuda. It operates one radio station and one television channel, the latter being the country's only channel, outside of cable.
