Rivera started playing tennis at the age of four. [2]
In 2021, she participated in the final of the Junior Billie Jean King Cup. In November that year, she qualified for the main draw of the Copa LP Chile 2021, a tournament with a prize purse of US$60,000. There, she lost in the first round to the second seed Anna Bondár in straight sets, 1–6, 0–6.
In 2023, she made her debut at a WTA Challenger Tour event, entering the qualifying draw of the LP Open 2023. She was defeated in the first qualifying round by Sada Nahimana with a score of 2–6, 6–7(2). In the doubles event, she played alongside Paloma Goldsmith Weinreich, and they lost their opening match to María Carlé and Despina Papamichail, 3–6, 2–6.
In 2024, she competed in the junior tournaments of all four Grand Slam events. At the 2024 Australian Open, she lost in the first round of the girls' singles to the fourth seed Hannah Klugman, 2–6, 3–6. In the girls' doubles, she partnered with Luna Maria Cinalli, and they lost in the first round to the fifth seeds Hayu Kinoshita and Wakana Sonobe, 5–7, 5–7. [4]
At the 2024 French Open, she lost in the first round of the girls' singles to Vendula Valdmannová, 2–6, 6–4, 5–7. In the girls' doubles, she partnered with Mayu Crossley and reached the round of 16. [5]
At Wimbledon, she reached the second round in the girls' singles. In doubles, again partnering with Cinalli, she lost in the first round to Mika Buchnik and Olivia Carneiro, 4–6, 2–6. [6]
At the US Open 2024, she lost in the first round of the girls' singles to Annika Penickova, 2–6, 3–6. In the doubles event, she reached the round of 16 alongside Lucie Urbanová. [7]
At the end of October, she reached the round of 16 in singles at the Bolivia Open 2024, a WTA Challenger event. At the LP Open 2024, she received a wildcard into the main draw but lost in the first round. In her third consecutive Challenger appearance, at the MundoTenis Open 2024, she again lost in the opening round, this time to Iryna Shymanovich.
In 2024, Vergara Rivera made her debut for the Chile Billie Jean King Cup team in a doubles match. Partnering with Jimar Gerald González, they lost to the Argentine pair Martina Capurro Taborda and Julieta Lara Estable. [8]
Vergara won her first professional title in December 2024 at an ITF W15 torunament on the Brazilian city of Mogi das Cruzes. Playing alongside compatriot Fernanda Labraña, they faced Romina Ccuno and Camila Romero at the final, winnig in two sets. [9]
