Anu Parthasarathy is an Indian fashion costume designer, who has worked on Hindi, Tamil and Telugu language films. [1]

Career

After graduating in interior designing in 1993, Anu Parthasarathy joined cinematographer P. C. Sreeram and film maker Jayendra Panchapakesan's company, JS, which made commercials for corporate companies. Anu worked there for three years, becoming acquainted with the entire production process of film-making. [2] She later joined art director Sabu Cyril’s unit and was involved in the artwork for the Miss World 1996 beauty pageant that took place in Bangalore. She also worked with Cyril for artwork on films such as Virasat (1997), Saat Rang Ke Sapne (1998) and Pukar (2000). [2]

Anu opted to specialise in a particular field within art direction, and in 1997, she started working as a costume designer, teaming up with Aneez, the wife of cinematographer Jeeva. The duo took on assignments for actresses including Simran, Jyothika and Ramya Krishnan during the period, and notably also did the costumes for Prashanth for the song "Poovukkul" in Shankar’s Jeans (1998). [2] Her close association with Jeeva, led her to opportunities to work on Vaalee (1999) and Kushi (2000). In the 2000s, her notable projects included work on creating Ramya Krishnan's look in Panchathanthiram (2002) and Madhavan and Vidya Balan's looks in Guru (2007), where she had to recreate the year 1978. She also worked on Hindi-language films such as Phir Milenge (2004) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007). [2]

In the late 2010s, Anu has regularly collaborated with Sivakarthikeyan, notably styling his dual looks in both Remo (2016) and Seemaraja (2018). [3] [4] [5]

Personal life

Anu Parthasarathy is the daughter of film writer Vietnam Veedu Sundaram and Chella. Her husband, Parthasarathy, is an ad film maker and entrepreneur. [6] [7] She is a close friend of actress Khushbu. [8]

Remo is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, in his directorial debut and produced by R. D. Raja under 24AM Studios. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh, while Sathish, Rajendran, Aadukalam Naren, Anson Paul, K. S. Ravikumar, Saranya Ponvannan and Sri Divya portray supporting roles. The cinematography was handled by P. C. Sreeram, and editing work was done by Ruben. Sound designer Resul Pookutty, was also a part of the film. The soundtrack album and background score has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and the soundtrack received positive response, upon release. The film follows an aspiring actor who decides to don as a female nurse, to test his acting skills and also to win the hearts of his lady love, who is a doctor by profession.

Vairamuthu is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet. He entered the Tamil film industry in the year 1980, with the film Nizhalgal, an Ilaiyaraaja musical, directed by Bharathiraja. During the course of his 40-year film career, he has written over 7,500 songs and poems which have won him seven National Awards, the most for any Indian lyricist. He has also been honored with a Padma Shri, a Padma Bhushan and a Sahitya Akademi Award, for his abundant literary output.

<i>Seemaraja</i> 2018 Indian film

Seemaraja is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language masala film written and directed by Ponram, marking his 3rd collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan, after Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajinimurugan. The movie was produced by R. D. Raja. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan in a double role with Simran and Lal playing negative role along with Samantha, with a supporting cast including Soori, Napoleon, and Keerthy Suresh in a cameo appearance. The film features music composed by D. Imman and cinematography by Balasubramaniam. The movie was released on 13 September 2018, coinciding with the festival of Vinayagar Chathurthi.
